This study was to bring the acceleration of autism child's spontaneous linguistic and non-linguistic communication using the peer-modeling program of the peer instruction.
The concrete objectives of this study were as follows:
First, this study investigated that the peer-modeling program for non-disabled children influenced autism child's linguistic and spontaneous communication.
Second, this study investigated that the peer-modeling program for non-disabled children influenced autism child's non-linguistic and spontaneous communication.
The methods of this study was composed of an autism child and his 6 peers(boys 2, girls 4), that divided into 2 groups and let them train the peer-modeling program, then they intermediated it to the autism child. All program lasted 30 minutes per every section and worked 48 times.
The conclusions as shown to below:
First, the peer-modeling program for non-disabled children was efficient for the improvement of autism child's linguistic and spontaneous communication, that is to say, the autism child appeared higher frequency in linguistic and spontaneous communication though his peers' imitation.
Second, the peer-modeling program for non-disabled children was efficient for the improvement of autism child's non linguistic and spontaneous communication.
