한국어 교재의 상대 경어법 제시 양상 분석 및 교재 개선 방안 연구 = The study on korean honorific expression of korean text books

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research focuses on how the social factors in honorific expressions are being taught in Korean textbook. Also, the research suggests the methods to improve the textbooks, based on the result of the analysis.
The study on Korean honorific expressions should be taught based on grammatical knowledge and sociolinguistic knowledge. This is because Korean honorific expression requires not only the structural?syntactic approach but also sociolinguistic perspective. Social linguistics perspective is an aspect which includes non-linguistic sociological factors, such as friendliness, age, gender, class and etc. in its view.
Unfortunately, such social factors related to the honorific expression has not received much attention compared to the structural?syntactic factors. From the elementary textbooks, the honorific expression is emphasized as a structural form of grammar. Due to such education, the learners tend to consider structural?syntactic accuracy as the priority when studying a language. Also, the learners are not interested about the social factors regarding a foreign language. The learners who did not receive enough education about the importance of social factors regarding Korean honorific expression tend to naturally use their own linguistic instinct on using Korean honorific expression, thereby making mistakes on using the Korean language.
In order to prevent such mistakes, the discussion on education of adequate information on the importance of social factors in using the Korean honorific expression is needed. Hence, this research focuses on whether the Korean textbooks, which has importance for the fact that it has a great influence on learners with its both qualitative and quantitative contents, have enough materials regarding the social factors which influence Korean honorific expression. Also, it is a purpose of the research to find ways to improve the Korean textbooks, based on the analysis on textbooks.
The content of the current treatise is summarized in the following.
In the first chapter, the detailed purpose and subjects of research are mentioned. Also, the treatise discusses about the previous research by others on the condition of honorific expression within textbooks.
In the second chapter, the treatise discusses the importance in education of Korean honorific expression based on the sociolinguistic knowledge, which is the fundamental background of this research. In addition, chapter two also discusses social factors related to the Korean honorific expression. Based on such discussions, some standards were set to analyze the current condition of the honorific expression within textbooks.
The third chapter includes the result of the analysis, which was made in the previous chapter. Activities motivated by textbooks for studying the honorific expression, appearance of honorific expressions within conversations in textbooks, and description of various techniques in using honorific expression were set as the target elements for the analysis.
In the fourth chapter, based on the result of analysis from chapter three, the treatise suggests methods to improve the education of honorific expression within textbooks. These methods are divided into areas of description techniques, conversations, and activities.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국어 교재에서 경어법의 사회적 요소가 어떻게 다루어지고 있는지 살펴보고, 교재 분석 결과를 토대로 교재의 개선 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
한국어 경어법의 학습은 문법적 지식(grammatical knowledge)과 함께 사회언어학적 지식(sociolinguistic knowledge)을 내용으로 해서 이루어져야 한다. 한국어의 경어법은 형태적?통사적 측면뿐만 아니라 사회언어학적 측면의 접근이 필요하기 때문이다. 사회언어학적 측면이란 친소(친밀감), 연령, 친족, 성, 지위 등 경어법의 사용에 언어 외적인 사회적 요소가 관여하는 것을 일컫는다.
그러나 경어법에 관여하는 사회적 요소는 형태적?통사적 요소에 비해 주목받지 못한다. 초급 교재에서부터 경어법은 문법적 형태로서 강조되고 있으며 대부분의 학습자는 1차적으로 형태적?통사적인 정확성을 우선으로 한다. 또한 자신의 모국어와 다른 사회적 요소에 대해 무관심하거나 무지하다. 이처럼 한국어 경어법의 사회적 요소에 대해 적절한 입력을 받지 못한 학습자는 모국어에서 써 온 언어적 직관으로 한국어의 경어법을 발화하며 오류를 만들게 된다.
오류를 막기 위해 경어법 교육에서 사회적 요소의 적절한 입력에 대한 논의가 필요하다. 따라서 입력의 양적, 질적 측면에서 중요한 위치를 차지하는 한국어 교재에 경어법에 관여하는 사회적 요소가 적절히 반영되어 있는지 살펴보고자 한다. 또한 교재 분석을 토대로 한국어 교재의 개선 방향을 살피는 것을 목적으로 한다.
본 논문의 내용을 정리해 보면 다음과 같다.
1장에서는 구체적인 연구의 목적 및 대상에 대해 제시하였으며, 교재의 경어법의 양상에 대한 기존 연구에 대해 논의하였다.
2장에서는 본고의 이론적 배경인 사회언어학적 지식을 토대로 한국어 경어법의 학습이 이루어져야 한다는 점과 한국어 경어법에 관여하는 사회적 요소에 대해 논의하였다. 이를 토대로 교재의 경어법 양상을 분석하기 위한 기준을 세우고자 했다.
3장에서는 교재 분석 결과를 제시하였다. 목표 항목으로서 상대 경어법의 기술 양상, 교재 대화문의 상대 경어법 제시 양상, 상대 경어법을 학습하기 위한 교재의 활동으로 나누어 살펴보았다.
4장에서는 3장의 교재 분석 결과를 바탕으로 한국어 교재의 상대 경어법 제시의 개선 방안을 기술 양상, 대화문, 활동으로 나누어 제시하였다.
