This manuscript is the thesis on deep bowl pottery and egg-shaped pottery which are typical potteries of Hanseong Bekje. The period dealt with by this study is until that time the capital was transferred to Woongjin by Koguryo after HanseongBekje had achieved national growth. When it comes to the region, the relics excavated in the areas that fall within the purview of Seoul and Kyungki province at present are the objects of this study.
The deep bowl pottery and egg-shaped pottery commenced from the hard and no motif pottery in the Proto-three Kingdom period and are the representative cooking-pottery of the ancient times. Therefore, the stream of change in the pottery of Hanseong Bekje is longer and more irregular than other one. In this study, the researches of the past on the pottery of Hanseong Bekje were arranged and those two potteries were divided into four quarters based on the change obtained by grasping the characteristic of production regarding the two potteries used as everyday vessel.
As setting up the quarters, from the first quarter through the third quarter, the recording chronologically of pottery of Bekje, which were already arranged, was reflected as much as possible and with regard to the fourth quarter, it was established from the fall of Hanseong Bekje to the time of transfer of the capital to Woongjin. Until now, It has been known that the style of the pottery of Hanseong Bekje vanished in the area of Kyungki province after the ruin of Hanseong Bekje. However, some potteries were confirmed as having more developed property than the pottery of Hanseong Bekje. Accordingly, some unearthed articles of Bekje relics were set for the fourth quarter by only the characteristic of production in the deep bowl pottery and egg-shaped pottery.
With reference to a study on establishing the fourth quarter in the future, collecting various materials and comparison of recording chronologically above the regional limitation will be definitely needed. In this study, even though the quarters were set up within the limits of region, kinds of pottery, and characteristic of relics, this manuscript leaves the vacant part in the recording chronologically of pottery of Hanseong Bekje that can be completed by inquiring into the materials regarding the comparison between ancient mounds remains and ironware as the future assignments.
