The Assessment Accreditation System has improved our daycare center quality, but in daycare setting it is difficult to take Assessment Accreditation System. Thus the purpose of this study is to explore the variables for availability of daycare center Assessment Accreditation System.
The Question of the study
1. How does the daycare center director perceive the Assessment Accreditation System and Assessment Indicator?
2. How does the daycare center director perceive the Assessment Accreditation observer activity?
3. How does the daycare center director perceive the Assessment Accreditation assistance and Daycare Information Center?
4. How does the daycare center director perceive the Assessment Accreditation incentive system?
The questionaire was revised to be appropriate for my study by selecting useful items from' Daycare Center Assessment Accreditation Indicator' (Korea Women Development Center), 'The Basic Perception of Daycare Center Director for Assessment Accreditation System According to Daycare Center Type'(Ju Kyungjin, 2006) and 'The Perception of Daycere Center Director for Assessment Accreditation System'(Park Bokmae, 2005).
SPSS 12.0 was used to analyze data for ANOVA-test, χ² and frequency.
Results
First, the perception of director for the Assessment Accreditation System and Assessment Indicator
Regardless of the participation in Assessment Accreditation System, the directors scored that Assessment Accreditation System improved the quality of the daycare center and the most important thing is ' the accurate perception and knowledge about Assessment Accreditation System'. The frequency of appropriateness was high for Assessment Accreditation System object, process, point rate and expiry term. But it was reported that the charge of taking Assessment Accreditation System, having too many items, not considering the center type and region were inappropriate for daycare center director. A lot of documents were the most important factor for avoiding the Assessment Accreditation System.
Second, the perception of director for the Assessment Accreditation Observer Activity
The directors rated high for the observer's career as a daycare center teacher. According to prior study it is necessary for observers to take a observer training and have a correct perception and knowledge for daycare setting.
Third, the perception of director for the Assessment Accreditation Assistance and Daycare Information Center
The directors rated desirable assistance type is from Daycare Information Center. Current assistance workers of Daycare Information Center were not enough to give a hand all of the Assessment Accreditation centers.
Fourth, the perception of director for the Assessment Accreditation Incentive System
In incentive system the directors wanted to be paid the facility reform fee and teachers' overtime pay, to reflect the guidance and inspection of administrative officer and to relate with incentive point at committing agency again.
Thus the variables of availability of Assessment Accreditation were the education for daycare center workers, reliable Indicator, the rationalization of System, the reliability and understanding of observer, assistance for care center setting and policy assistance.
