impression, and hair dyeing has been settled as a part of fashion as it has been popularized. Recently upright application of various hair coloring method as well as professional technique are being required due to more interest on healthy hair and segmented color choice. With only the method focusing simply color expression, it is impossible to satisfy the needs of the current customers who consider not only appearance also health of hair importantly, Moreover, frequent hair dyeing has been helping fuel hair damage.
In this study, therefore, it conducted an experiment focusing the customers of white hair who require more frequent treatment and use color of low-damage level. Also this study aimed to carry out an experimental investigation on the physical and morphological changes appeared when using each hair dye repeatedly three times biweekly on the basis of henna hair said to be in relatively lower damage, semi-permanent hair dye which are lower in damage level and chemical henna keeping up with the current customers considering even health of hair, using tensile strength and tenacity elongation tester and scanning probe electronic microscope, and finally recommend people the use of hair dye with less damage level.
According to the comparative analysis on the hair samples dyed by chemical henna, henna and semi-permanent hair dye through analysis tools, change of hair cuticle was most seriously occurred and hair was damaged in using henna compared to other hair dye. What is more, all of each hair dye showed the phenomenon that desquamation or crack of hair cuticles was getting worse as frequency of hair dyeing was added, even though hair dyeing was performed in the status that friction was not added in hair dyeing.
Seeing the above results it presented that henna, known as less damage level, gives more damage in hair cuticles than semi-permanent hair dye with low-alkalinity, chemical henna with 3%~5% of chemical content. It is considered that hair damage could be minimized if over-time or friction was reduced in hair dyeing.
