In this study, to apply U-learning effectively, we suggest a new integrated teaching strategy. The systematic development of U-learning needs to change educational method and enables learners to be supported personalized learning based on learning characteristics of them. We grasped various educational factors centered on learners to utilize U-learning condition effectively, categorized them into subject, time and space as vital educational factors supporting U-learning and analyzed. Also, we designed the STS-integrated teaching strategy to utilize effectively the educational factors based on the characteristics of U-learning into teaching. According to the STS-integrated strategy, we organized educational factors related to learners synthetically, extracted various learning input factors for personalized learning and applied them to learning by combining their relation diversely.
With elementary school students, we operated the STS-integrated teaching centered on learners in U-learning conditions, and verified the effectiveness of U-learning by measuring the changes of higher-level thinking, learning motivation and self-directed learning.
After considering all the results, we learned STS-integrated teaching centered on learners that is based on the unity of subject, time and space was effective in the area of higher-level thinking, learning motivation and self-directed learning. If learning like this continued, excellence in education centered on learners would be promoted by supporting the general learning that prospects educational factors and the relation of them.
