The purpose of this study is to infer sports participants' behavior intention of u-Sports and to predict introduction by applying the UTAUT(Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology), to implement a model by adding variables in line with the characteristics of ubiquitous based on the existing UTAUT model, and to understand the predictive power and the explanatory power of a theory more multi-dimensionally.
Accordingly, this study targeted the sports participants of dwelling in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon area, who are regularly participating in sports. The samples in 600 copies were collected. And the final analysis was used the samples of 578 copies. Specifically, these research subjects were collected by having population as people in their 20s~40s at the age, who are judged to positively use sports information now, to be mostly easy for access to new media, and to have no rejection distinction.
In order to achieve the objectives of this study, the questionnaire was used. By using SPSS Ver 12.0, it carried out the exploratory factor analysis and Cronbach's α aiming at the test of feasibility and reliability in the survey tool, the frequency analysis in order to examine individual characteristics, t-test and ANOVA in order to examine difference in awareness depending on individual characteristics, and correlation analysis in order to examine the relationship between variables in each. Additionally by using AMOS 6.0, the covariance structural modeling analysis was carried out aiming at the confirmative factor analysis and the hypothesis test. As a result, the following conclusions were obtained.
First, in the relationship in variables of ubiquitous computing acceptance according to gender of sports participants, the male sports participants described the higher perception than the female sports participants all in effort expectancy, performance expectancy, facilitating conditions, social influence, context based personalization, personal innovativeness, perceived enjoyment, behavior intention, and introduction. However, the female sports participants described the higher perception in the personal anxiety.
Second, in the relationship in variables of ubiquitous computing acceptance according to age of sports participants, the significant difference was discovered between the 20s-30s group and the 40s group in the variables of effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, context based personalization, personal innovativeness, and introduction. In other words, the 20s-30s group was indicated to have higher awareness level than the 40s group. The variables in performance expectancy and behavior intention, the significant difference was discovered among all three groups in order of 20s, 30s, and 40s. Namely, it was indicated that the younger age level leads to the higher awareness level in the performance expectancy and behavior intention. The significant difference was discovered between the 20s group and 30s & 40s group in the variable of perceived enjoyment. Namely, the 20s group was indicated to have higher awareness level in the perceived enjoyment. The significant difference was discovered between the 40s group and 20s & 30s group in the variable of personal anxiety. Namely, the 40s group was indicated to have higher awareness level in the personal anxiety.
Third, as a result of analyzing the relationship in variables of ubiquitous computing acceptance according to participatory level in sports participants, the group with sports participatory career in more than 3 years was indicated to have higher awareness level than the group with sports participatory career in less than 3 years in the variables of effort expectancy, performance expectancy, and facilitating conditions. Also, the group with sports participatory career in more than 5 years was indicated to have higher awareness level than the group with sports participatory career in less than 5 years in the variables of behavior intention, introduction, context based personalization, and perceived enjoyment. The group with sports participatory career in more than 1 year was indicated to have higher awareness level than the group with sports participatory career in less than 1 year in the variable of social influence.
Fourth, in the relationship of the preceding variables in the behavior intention and introduction of ubiquitous computing in sports participants, the positive-direction(+) influence was indicated in the relationship between the variables of effort expectancy, performance expectancy, personal innovativeness, and perceived enjoyment, and the behavior intention. However, the variables of facilitating conditions, social influence, context based personalization, and personal anxiety were indicated to have no effect on the behavior intention. Furthermore, the behavior intention, which is parameter, was indicated to have positive-direction(+) influence upon introduction.
