In the modern society when the volume of knowledge increases explosively and the speed of the formation and extinction of knowledge gets faster rapidly, we cannot culture the talents needed in our society only with the education to simply memorize the fossilized knowledge as in the past. The future society needs a person who accepts the valuable and meaningful knowledge, evaluates the value of accepted knowledge, and creates a new knowledge based on this. However, the reality of our education shows that we failed to cultivate a creative ability needed in the future society because of the cramming education for the college entrance examination and the expulsion of a uniform thinking.
Accordingly, in this study we developed the reading education program applicable to the high school students, verified how the developed reading education program affected the promotion of creativity of high schoolers, clarified the relation between reading education and promotion of creativity and analyzed the evidence to introduce the reading education program to be used in the field of school education.
As a result of study, we could draw a conclusion as follows;
Firstly, we analyzed the influences of reading education on fluency, originality, abstraction, elaboration and also analyzed how reading education affected the resistance to a hasty closing. In the preliminary inspection a test group and a control group showed no meaningful difference, whereas in the post inspection after reading education the test group showed a higher mark by a meaningful difference compared with the control group. As a result, we could confirm that reading education had an effect on the fluency, originality, abstraction and elaboration of high school students and it also affected the resistance in their hasty closing.
Secondly, it is necessary for a teacher in the subject of Korean language to have a change of recognition to promote a creative thinking.
Thirdly, students ought to have more concern in a voluntary reading and make reading books a daily living.
Fourth, we'll have to escape from the reading guidance through a uniform reading education with the center of written description of the impressions and grope for new varied methods of reading instruction to respect students' personality and diversity and grow their creative thinking power.
