Objectives : Our objective in this study was to measure the frequency of health-related behaviors among high school students in Korea by using the korea youth risk behavior web-based survey 2006. The study investigated the association of influencing factors of health behaviors with health risk behaviors. We also examined social influence that affected youth health behaviors.

Methods : A web-survey questionnaire was administered to 3,3984high school students in Korea. The questionnaire measured the frequency of tabacco, alcohol, obesity, living factor etc. The 2006 web-based survey accounted for the health influence factors(economic level, scholarship of fathe, residence, living together with parents etc) on high school students' health behaviors.
Data was analyzed with frequency, chi-square test, and multiple logistic regression.

Results : Students reported higher frequency of most of health risk behaviors than is reported in other studies on youth health behaviors in Korea.
The obesity, activity, stress, smoking behavior and alchol use were statistically strongly associated with most of health risk influence factors(residence, economic level, school record, scholarship of father, type of living together with parents school form, school type etc) among high school students. particularly, students' tobacco and alchol use have a significant effect, and the odds ratio(OR) of a school record and economic level were higher than other health risk factors.

Conclusion : Korea youth health-related behaviors should be monitored consistently in a surveilance system at the national level, and be improved through multi-dimensional and multi-level health promotion efforts in Korea.

Key words: stress, smoking, health risk behaviors, influencing factors, youth health behaviors
