기독교상담학의 성향 분류에 따른 신학과 심리학의 통합 모델 : 성경관, 인간이해, 심리학 개방성을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 기독교상담의 정체성을 확립하기 위하여, 기독교상담의 성향을 학문적으로 분석하고 분류하여, 기독교상담의 통합 모델을 제시하고자 하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 이와 같은 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 문헌 연구를 하였다. 상담자의 성경관, 인간이해, 심리학 개방성에 따라 기독교상담의 성향이 달라지기 때문에 각 요소별 성향에 따라 기독교상담을 분류했다. 위와 같은 방법으로 얻어진 연구 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 기독교상담자의 성경관에 따른 기독교상담의 성향은 성경배제형, 심리학주도형, 절충통합형, 성경주도형, 성경충족형 등 다섯 가지 유형으로 분류했다. 성경배제형은 기독교상담에서 성경을 사용하지 않고 일반심리학에 기초해서 상담이론을 수립하는 자유주의 입장이다. 심리학주도형은 기독교상담에서 성경을 사용하되 상담의 원리에 맞추어 사용하며, 주로 목회신학파가 여기에 속한다. 절충통합형은 성경과 심리학을 절충하는 기독교상담의 성향으로써 성경과 심리학을 동등하게 여기는 중도적 입장이다. 성경주도형은 기독교상담에서 성경의 권위를 훼손하지 않는 심리학만을 허용하며, 성경신학적 원리에 의하여 상담을 진행한다. 성경충족형은 성경만으로 내담자의 문제를 충분히 해결할 수 있다고 보는 급진적 보수주의 입장이다.
둘째, 기독교상담자의 인간이해는 신학적, 심리학적, 통합적으로 볼 수 있으며, 이를 근거로 타락한 존재, 의존적 존재, 책임적 존재, 잠재적 존재, 전인적 존재 등으로 분류했다. 타락한 존재는 인간을 죄로 인해서 타락한 존재로 보기 때문에 죄의 문제를 해결하는데 초점을 둔다. 의존적 존재는 인간은 하나님을 의존해야 하는 존재이기 때문에, 인간의 문제는 하나님으로부터 독립하려고 하는 데에서 시작된다고 본다. 이러한 견해는 하나님과 깨어진 관계를 회복하는 일에 초점을 맞춘다. 책임적 존재는 인간은 자유의지가 있지만 자신의 행동에 대해서는 책임을 져야하는 것을 강조한다. 잠재적 존재는 인간의 가능성을 강조하는데, 일반상담자는 하나님 없는 인간의 가능성을 강조하지만, 기독교상담자는 예수 그리스도 안에서 무한한 가능성을 본다. 전인적 존재는 인간은 필요에 따라 나눌 수 있는 개체들로 구성된 존재가 아니라 전인적인 존재로 보고 전인건강의 회복을 추구한다.
셋째, 기독교상담자의 심리학 개방성에 따른 기독교상담의 성향은 개방유형, 수용유형, 분리유형, 여과유형, 폐쇄유형 등 다섯 가지 유형으로 분류했다. 개방유형은 기독교상담자가 심리학적인 자료만을 활용하는 입장으로 심리학에 매우 개방적인 입장이다. 수용유형은 심리학의 학문적 결과를 수용하면서도 기독교상담의 정체성을 잃지 않는 입장이다. 분리유형은 신학과 심리학의 권위를 동등하게 인정하며, 그 영역을 분리하는 입장이다. 여과유형은 심리학적인 자료들을 신학적으로 검증한 후에 성경신학적으로 문제가 되지 않는 것들을 활용한다. 폐쇄유형은 내담자의 모든 문제는 성경으로 해결할 수 있다고 보기 때문에, 심리학 활용에 폐쇄적이다.
넷째, 기독교상담자의 성경관, 인간이해, 심리학 개방성에 따라 기독교상담의 통합모델을 심리학중심모델, 목회신학모델, 동등통합모델, 복음주의모델, 성경신학모델 등 다섯 가지 모델로 분류했다. 심리학중심모델은 성경배제형의 성경관과 심리학적 인간이해, 그리고 심리학에 대해서는 개방유형의 태도를 취한다. 목회신학모델은 심리학주도형의 성경관과 신학적 인간이해를 근거로 하되 심리학적 인간이해를 받아들이며, 심리학에 대해서는 수용유형이다. 동등통합모델은 절충통합형의 성경관과 통합적 인간이해를 하며, 신학과 심리학을 동등한 수준으로 여기는 입장이다. 복음주의모델은 성경주도형의 성경관과, 신학적 인간이해와 신학적으로 검증된 심리학적 인간이해를 하며, 심리학 개방성에 대해서는 여과유형을 취한다. 성경신학모델은 성경충족형의 성경관과 신학적 인간이해를 하며, 심리학에 대해서는 폐쇄유형의 입장이다.
위의 연구결과를 토대로 내린 결론은 다음과 같다. 기독교상담은 상담자의 성경관, 인간이해, 심리학 개방이라는 세 가지 요소에 의해서 영향을 받으며, 이러한 세 가지 요인에 따라 기독교상담의 통합모델의 유형도 달라진다.
이러한 연구결과를 종합해 볼 때 기독교상담자가 기독교상담의 정체성을 확립하기 위해서는 우선 상담자가 본인의 신학적 성향을 바로 알고, 그에 따른 성경관, 인간이해 및 심리학 개방성의 각 요인에 맞는 자신의 입장을 확립해야 한다. 그리고 기독교상담의 통합모델의 장단점을 파악하고 각 모델에 맞는 상담기법을 활용한다면, 기독교상담의 임상적, 학문적 발전에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this research was to propose an integration model in conjunction with tendency of Christian counseling having classified the tendency of Christian counseling in an academic perspective.
For the purpose of this research, the researcher presumed that the viewpoint of Christian counselor on the Bible, his(her) anthropological understanding and openness of psychology are major factors that represent the tendency of Christian counseling. Results from this research are as follows:
First, tendency of Christian counseling in accordant with Christian counselor's viewpoints on the Bible was divided into five types. ‘The Bible exclusion type’ is a stand on liberalism that establishes a counseling theory based on general psychology not using the Bible in Christian counseling. ‘Psychology oriented type’ does not ignore the use of the Bible, whilst Christian counselor conducts counseling in accordance with the principle of psychology. ‘Negotiation integration type’ is an eclectic position in treating both the Bible and psychology regarding the two on equal term. ‘The Bible oriented type’ mainly is not only based on the Bible, but also admit psychology. ‘The Bible adequacy type’ is in position of conservatism and proceed counseling relying only on the Bible.
Second, tendency of Christian counseling according to a Christian counselor's understanding of humans was divided into three types. Included was understanding of humans from a theological perspective, understanding of humans from a psychological perspective and anthropological understanding in an integrated fashion. Also these view points were divided into five categories. ‘Depraved existence’ means that humans have been debased due to sins, therefore, their counseling practices are focused on removing influence of transgressions from humans. ‘Dependable existence’ makes clients focus on works to recover distorted relationship with God. ‘Accountable existence’ means that human beings have a free will, and at the same time. They are required to bear full responsibility for their behaviors. ‘Potential existence’ makes a Christian counselor believe the potentiality of human beings in Jesus Christ. ‘Whole existence’ means that human being is not an existence comprising individual entity, but a whole existence pursuing wholeness health.
Third, tendency of Christian counseling in accordance with openness of psychology of a Christian counselor was classified into five types. ‘Opened type’ means that a Christian counselor makes best use of reference materials for psychology in counseling, and adopts very open posture to psychology. ‘Accepted type’ is a standpoint not to lose an identity of Christian counseling, whilst admitting psychology. ‘Separated type’ holds a position to separate the area of expertise, whilst they approve theology and the authority of psychology on equal term. ‘Filtered type’ uses the topics that would not turn out to be the problem connected with the Bible after having filtered psychology by means of theology. ‘Closed type’ adopts a closed posture toward psychology.
Fourth, integration model accordant with a Christian counselor's viewpoint on the Bible, anthropological understanding and openness of psychology was classified into five types. ‘Psychology centered model’ has the Bible exclusion type viewpoint on the Bible and anthropological understanding from a psychological perspective, and take an opened model attitude toward psychology. ‘Pastoral theology model’ accepts anthropological understanding from a psychological perspective, and are receptive to psychology, whilst they conduct counseling based on the psychology-oriented viewpoint on the Bible and anthropological understanding from the perspective of theology. ‘Parallel integration model’ has a negotiation integration type viewpoint on the Bible, and have anthropological understanding in an integrated fashion. Also they treat theology and psychology on equal term. ‘Evangelism model’ has the Bible oriented type viewpoint on the Bible, and understand humans from the perspective of theology, also they have understanding of humans from the psychological perspective, which has been verified in theological point of view. It use reference materials that verified by means of the Bible and theology.
‘The Bible theology model’ has the Bible adequacy type viewpoint on the Bible, and understand humans from theological perspective, and completely reject reference materials for psychology.
Taken above research results together, a Christian Counselor should know own tendency toward theology, and have perspects on the Bible and anthropological understanding as well in accord with such a tendency, and also they are required to take a standpoint to suit each factor relative to openness of psychology. By doing so, an integration model that will be fit in oneself can be established. Also, when conducting counseling having established counseling skills based on such integration model, they will be able to provide for efficient helps to a client.
