The object of this study is clarifying the effect of Integrated Teaching & Learning Method using children's verse on children's emotional competence.
For this purpose, the following subjects of inquiries were established focused on the sub-factors of emotional competence such as self-recognition of emotion, recognition of other's emotion, emotional vocabulary, empathy, emotional expression and regulation of emotion.

The subjects of this study are 50 young children of age five in two private nurseries located in Daejeon City, of which 25 children were designated for the experimental group and the other 25 children were for the comparison group. The measurement of the experiment for this study was executed from April 30th, 2007
through July 6th, 2007, during the period of 10 weeks in all applied by children's verse. For the experimental group, the Integrated Teaching & Learning Method was practiced using 10 Korean children's verse overall, and for the comparison group, children were listened to five children's verse related to the subject of the study by the ordinary way of listening children's verse.
"Test Material for Young children's Emotional Competence" by Woo Soo Kyung(2002) was used as the test material for this study, which is composed of 39 inquiries derived from six factors of self-recognition of emotion, recognition of other's emotion, emotional vocabulary, empathy, emotional expression and regulation of emotion.
The abstract and findings of this study are as follows:
First, the Integrated Teaching & Learning Method applied by children's verse has positive effect on young children's self-recognition of emotion among the emotional competence.
Second, the Integrated Teaching & Learning Method applied by children's verse has positive effect on young children's recognition of other's emotion among the emotional competence.
Third, the Integrated Teaching & Learning Method applied by children's verse has positive effect on young children's emotional vocabulary among the emotional competence.
Fourth, the Integrated Teaching & Learning Method applied by children's verse has positive effect on young children's empathy among the emotional competence.
Fifth, the Integrated Teaching & Learning Method applied by children's verse has positive effect on young children's emotional expression among the emotional competence.
Sixth, the Integrated Teaching & Learning Method applied by children's verse has positive effect on young children's regulation of emotion among the emotional competence.
As a conclusion, it indicated that the Integrated Teaching & Learning Method using children's verse has positive effect on young children's emotional competence.
