This study searched influence of Taekwondo training on peer relation and emotional intelligence of elementary school students with third grade and fifth grade elementary school students who are currenlty learning Taekwondo, mainly in Dongbu 6-gun of Jeonnam to find out what kind of changes occur. The results are as follows:
First, regarding peer relation by personal characteristics, there were no significant differences in genders, training periods and characteristical aspects. However, by grades, the third grade students had better peer relation through Taekwondo training than the sixth grade students did and there was a significant difference.
Second, regarding emotional intelligence by personal characteristics, girl students showed higher emotional introduction and emotional expression aspects than boy students. The sixth grade students marked higher emotional introduction aspect than the third grade students and the third grad students marked higher emotional control and emotional intelligence aspect than the sixth grades.
In other words, there were positive changes to the lower grade girl students' participation in Taekwondo training.
Third, regarding peer relation and emotional intelligence shown through Taekwondo training, it was concluded that emotional recognition was low but emotional control was high as peer relation was good.
