    (Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to present interventional directions to achieve the effective social welfare for strengthening the school resilience by examining how many of institutionalized adolescents for family troubles showing school resilience exist, by examining how different their school resilience according to their social characteristics of population is, by verifying what differences exist on protective factors between adolescents with high school resilience and adolescents with low school resilience and by discovering what protective factors actually affect to the school resilience.
Therefore on this study, equal or higher than 4th grade of elementary school students, middle school students, high school students and college students living in 17 child care institutions in Daegu, Sangju, Pohang, Kimcheon, Kyungju, Gunwie and Andong areas were examined and also students from normal elementary schools, middle schools, high schools in the same areas were questioned to setup the a datum line between the school resilience of institutionalized adolescents and the school resilience of normal adolescents. Frequency analysis, technical statistics analysis, T-verification, ANOVA analysis, mutual relationship analysis and multiple regression analysis were conducted to examine each problem by using SPSS 12.0. The main results of this study are as the followings.
First, the ratio of school resilience of with school of institutionalized adolescents was 51.3 % and this result was higher than the result of those who were non-resilient groups.
Second, there was no statistical difference of sex, parents being in existence or not and family in contact from all examined students on the school resilience based on the social characteristics of population. And, only the difference between cases of elementary school students and cases of middle school students was found when examined by the school level as from the elementary school to the college.
Third, institutionalized adolescents with a high school resilience had a higher responsibility, self-esteem and personal relations than institutionalized adolescents with a low school resilience. And as for facility environmental factors, institutionalized adolescents with a high school resilience had higher supports of the same age and supports of guidance teachers than institutionalized adolescents with a low school resilience. And for the school environmental factors as the last, institutionalized adolescents with a high school resilience had greater supports of school teachers, democratic school environments and social-friendly characteristics of school friends than institutionalized adolescents with a low school resilience.
Fourth, as the result of confirming personal factors that affect on the school resilience, the school resilience was higher if self-esteem and higher responsibility of institutionalized adolescents are higher and the influence of the length of living in institutions was adversely affected on the school resilience, so the school resilience is higher if the length of living in institutions is shorter. And also, as the result of confirming factors of facility environments to affect on the school resilience, the school resilience of institutionalized adolescents was getting higher if supports of the same age and supports of guidance teachers are getting greater,
Finally, as the result of confirming environmental factors of school that affect on the school resilience, the school resilience is getting higher if social-friendly characteristics of school friends is higher, more democratic school environments are provided and more supports of school teachers are provided. As the result of confirming protective factors that affect on the school resilience from the integrated model with personal factors, facility environmental factors and school environmental factors, responsibility and self-esteem were on the same level in personal factors, and the number of family in contact was only significant in facility environmental factors.
And, supports of the same age and supports of guidance teachers were not significant. Lastly, democratic school environments and social-friendly characteristics of school friends were significant and supports of school teachers was not significant in school environmental factors.
By all results together, the school resilience of institutionalized adolescents is getting higher as their self-esteem is higher, the number of family in contact is smaller, the school environment is more democratic and social-friendly characteristics of school friends are higher.
