희망척도의 타당화 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 국내에서 번안되어 사용하고 있는 Snyder 등(1991)의 희망척도가 체계적인 번안과 타당화과정을 거치지 않았다는 데에 제한점을 두고, 다시 체계적 번안과정을 거친 한국판 희망척도의 신뢰도와 타당도를 검증하였다. 이를 위하여 총 225명의 서울 및 경기지역 대학의 대학(원)생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 탐색적 요인분석 및 신뢰도 분석, 상관분석, 위계적 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 탐색적 요인분석 결과, 한국판 희망척도는 선행연구의 2요인구조와는 달리 단일요인구조가 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 신뢰도 분석결과, 한국판 희망척도의 내적합치도(Cronbach's α)는 .77, 검사-재검사 신뢰도는 .80으로 나타나 만족스러운 신뢰도 수준을 보였다. 셋째, 상관분석 결과, 한국판 희망척도는 자기효능감 및 낙관성, 정적 정서와 유의미한 정적 상관을 보였고, 비효과적인 문제해결, 부적정서, 무망감과 유의미한 부적상관을 보임으로써 수렴타당도 및 공존타당도를 확인할 수 있었고, 사회적 바람직성과는 유의미한 상관을 보이지 않는 것으로 나타나 변별타당도를 확인할 수 있었다. 넷째, 위계적 중다회귀분석 결과, 희망이 유사개념인 자기효능감과 낙관성의 설명량을 넘어 심리적 안녕감에 대한 고유변량을 가지는 것으로 나타나 한국판 희망척도의 변별유용성을 확인할 수 있었다.
이러한 결과가 가지는 희망의 문화차이에 대한 함의와 한국판 희망척도의 활용성 및 본 연구의 제한점을 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This examined the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the Dispositional Hope Scale(DHS; Sndyer et al., 1991). Participants were 225 college students who completed the research packet including measures of hope, self efficacy, optimism, problem-solving appraisal, positive and negative affect, hopelessness, social desirable response, and psychological well-being.
The exploratory factor analysis results provided support for the one-factor structure of the K-DHS, which differed from the original two-factor structure of hope suggested by Snyder and his colleagues. Study results also suggested that the Korean version of the DHS was reliable instrument: (a) the internal consistency estimate of the K-DHS was .77 and (b) the test-retest reliability estimate was .80.
In addition, the validity of the K-DHS was established, demonstrated by significant associations with other criterion measures in conceptually expected ways. Specifically, the K-DHS was correlated positively with measures of self-efficacy, optimism, and positive affect, but was correlated negatively with ineffective problem-solving appraisal, negative affect, and hopelessness, suggesting good convergent validity. Also, the correlations between the K-DHS and social desirability were not significant, supporting good discriminant validity. Finally, hierarchical multiple regression results suggested that the K-DHS accounted for unique additional variance in predicting psychological well-being over and beyond the ones explained by self-efficacy and optimism.
This study ended with discussion of potential cultural differences in the latent structure of hope between Korea and the United States, the utility of the K-DHS, and study limitations.
