헤어스타일 양감과 질감표현에 관한 연구 : 커트와 퍼머넌트웨이브의 기술요소 중심으로 = (A)study on the hairstyle presentation of mass & texture : focusing on the cut & permanent wave

국문 초록 (Abstract)

헤어스타일의 기초는 커트라 할 수 있다. 커트는 헤어스타일을 만들기 위한 기본 기술로서 퍼머나 염색은 물론 여러 예술작품 시술의 첫걸음이다. 커트는 모발이란 소재를 가지고 조형을 창출해내는 것이므로 단지 기술만 가지고는 접근할 수 없고 헤어 디자인이라는 틀을 먼저 생각하고 이를 설계도로 삼아 머리를 잘라야 한다. 커트에 있어서 중요 요소는 모발의 길이를 잘 맞추어 자르거나, 숱을 감소시키거나, 머릿결의 움직임과 양감 및 질감 표현을 해내는 것 등이다. 따라서 헤어커트를 할 때 이와 같은 요소를 완벽하게 살려내야 할 것이다.
현대에 들어오면서 커트에 대한 소비자의 욕구가 큰 폭으로 변화하여 질감처리(스트록, 틴닝, 레이져 등)의 의존도가 높아짐으로써 본래의 베이직 커트 형태(form)의 이미지 형성에서 다양한 이미지 형성으로 변화를 초래하게 되었다. 그에 따른 웨이브에 있어서 변화가 동시에 수반되어 웨이브 형성과 형성된 웨이브의 질감 처리가 중요한 부분으로 부각되고 있다. 이러한 현상은 모발의 손상을 가중시키고 헤어스타일의 재현성을 떨어지게 하는 힘든 문제가 발생되었다. 따라서 기본을 철저히 습득하여 형태를 조절할 수 있는 능력이 필요하게 되었다.
그러므로 본 연구에서는 고객이 원하는 헤어스타일의 이미지 재현성을 높이는 헤어기술로 커트와 퍼머넌트웨이브 관계를 ‘존&섹션’ 개념을 기초로 각각의 기술에 섹션이나 존을 적용하는 기술적 관계를 찾고자 한다.
따라서 헤어스타일 표현에 있어서 양감과 질감에 대한 정확한 의의를 살펴보고, 재현성이 높은 헤어스타일 이미지를 구현하는데 체계적인 방법을 찾고자 다음과 같은 방법으로 연구문제를 설정한다.
첫째, 틴닝 기법에 따른 양감과 질감의 차이를 살펴본다.
둘째, 틴닝 기법을 적용한 각각의 스타일에 동일한 와인딩을 한 후 양감과 질감의 차이를 살펴본다.
셋째, 각각의 웨이브에 ‘존&섹션’의 개념을 대입하여 해석하고, 와인딩 기법을 제어한 작품제작을 통하여 양감과 질감의 변화를 살펴본다.
넷째, 레이어와 그래쥬에이션 구조를 조합한 커트 스타일에 틴닝 기법과 와인딩 기법을 ‘존&섹션’ 개념에 적용하여 해석하고 재현성이 높은 헤어스타일의 이미지를 찾고자 한다.
틴닝 기법을 대입한 각각 스타일의 결과물에서 약간의 양감과 질감의 차이를 얻어낼 수 있었으며, 양감의 크기는 이너 그래쥬에이션 틴닝, 포인트 틴닝, 이너 레이어 틴닝 순으로 나타나며, 질감의 강한 정도는 이너 레이어 틴닝, 포인트 틴닝, 이너 그래쥬에이션 틴닝의 순으로 나타난다.
와인딩을 시술한 결과물에서는 각각의 스타일에 나타난 양감과 질감의 차이가 더욱더 뚜렷해졌으며, 양감과 질감에 있어서도 현격한 차이를 볼 수가 있었다.
본 연구는 틴닝 기법에서 와인딩 기법으로 이어지는 과정 중 가장 중요한 요소로 ‘존&섹션’ 개념을 대입하여 헤어스타일의 양감과 질감표현을 재해석한 것이다. 본 논문의 결과에서 커트와 퍼머넌트와의 관련성이 매우 깊은 것을 알 수 있었으며, 헤어스타일의 창작 과정에서 틴닝 기법과 와인딩 기법이 중요한 요소로 작용한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 창작과정에 있어서 ‘존&섹션’ 개념을 정확히 인지하여 컨셉에 맞는 틴닝 기법과 와인딩 기법을 적재적소에 사용할 수 있어야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The base of hairstyling is cutting. Cutting is the basic skill needed to create hairstyles. It is the first step not only for perm or dye but also for hair design. It is creating a form using hair as material. As the beautician needs to create a style suitable for each individual, it cannot be approached only from the skill aspect and the frame of design must be considered. The important elements in cut design include cutting the length appropriately, layered, and the expression of movement, texture, and volume of hair.
In recent years, customers' demands became more complicated and thus, texture treatments(stroke, thinning, razor, etc) are used more frequently. As a result, cutting has changed from the creation of basic image to the creation of diverse images and wave changes followed accordingly and the texture treatment became a very important part. In this process, the damage of hair is accelerated and results in problems like the deterioration of hairstyles. As a result, ability to control form by learning the basic skills thoroughly is needed.
Therefore, this study bases the relationship between cutting and permanent wave as a hairstyling technique to produce the hairstyle the customer wants on the 'zone and section' concept, and examines various ways to apply the section and zone techniques.
1) Examine the changes in the volume and texture created by the thinning techniques.
2) Examine the changes in volume and texture after using the same winding technique to each style to which thinning techniques are applied.
3) Apply 'zone and section' concept to each wave and produce a work for which winding technique is controlled, and examine the changes in volume and texture.
4) Apply the thinning technique and winding technique based on 'zone and section' concept to the cut style for which the combination of layer and graduation structure is applied and find hairstyles that produce the images customers want.
Slight volume and texture changes were found in the hairstyle to which the thinning technique is applied. And the volume was created most effectively by inner graduation thinning, point thinning, and inner layer thinning in that order. The texture was created most effectively by inner layer thinning, point thinning, and inner graduation thinning in that order.
The hairstyles for which winding technique is applied have more marked volume and texture changes and there was profound difference in volume and texture.
The key point of this study is to apply the 'zone and section' concept, which is the most important element in the process between the thinning technique and winding technique, to create volume and texture. In conclusion, cutting and permanent are strongly related to hair styles. And the thinning and winding techniques are important elements in the creation process. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the zone and section concept correctly and apply the thinning and winding techniques effectively in the creation process.
