In this study, I studied what view point pastors should have and the practice of the pastorate for the old people welfare as we are seeing the coming of the aging society and their effects on the activation of the aged welfare as well. For this, I looked over the thought of pastors about the subject, the current practice for the welfare and future measures to deal with various issues of the aged welfare, facing the aging society.
This study is aimed at researching first, whether the recognition of pastors and church factors could have significance in the activation of the aged welfare according to pastors' variations of background, second, what influence the church factors recognized by pastors do on the pastorate for the old welfare, third, what influence the church factors recognized by pastors do on the activation of the pastorate for the aged welfare and fourth, what relation between the church factors recognized by pastors and the activation of the pastorate for the aged welfare does exist.
The method of this study is helped by practical research and literature investigation, and the resulting questions from them are categorized into 8 items of the interest of pastors, 3 items of the recognition of pastors, 23 items of resources, 11 items of programs, totaling 45 items. For the verification of the hypothesis of the study, the collected materials were corded and then processed with SPSS 140, a statistics process package program. And the results of the statistical process are shown as following.
In terms of factor difference among pastors, there was no difference in age but for the interest of pastors, it was revealed that F=2.61 and there was a statistically significant difference at the level of p<.05. In the aspect of the recognition of pastors, F=2.99 is obtained, showing a meaningful difference at the level of p<.05.
From the level of education, I got F=3.57, a significant difference at the level of p<.05 in the recognition of pastors. In terms of the interest, I had F=6.59, showing difference at the level of p<.001. In order to identify on what group such difference has shown, I used Scheffe verification, resulting in that non-educational groups have meaningful difference from educational groups.
In the recognition of pastors according to the period of the establishment of church, I got F=2.60, showing a significant difference at the level of p<.05. And in the interest of them, it was shown of F=3.70, indicating a significant difference at the level of p<.01.
In the difference of the aged welfare programs according to the activation of the pastorate for the aged welfare, there were no differences among gender, age, career and education, but in the number of church goers, I had the result of F=7.54, indicating a significant difference at the level of p<.001.
In the facility for the aged welfare according to the activation of the pastorate for the aged welfare, it was shown of F=4.21, indicating a significant difference at the level of p<.01. In the aspect of the period of building church, it was shown of F=2.79, indicating a significant difference at the level of p<.05. In the number of church goers, it was shown of F=9.93, showing a significant difference at the level of p<.001.
In the human resource by the activation of the pastorate for the aged welfare, it was shown that there is no statistically meaningful difference between the numbers, volunteering resource and the ages of pastors. But in the respect of expert resources, it was shown of F=3.83, indicating a significant difference at the level of p<.01. And it was confirmed that the education degree of pastors had differences in the expert resources by F=10.77, at the level of p<.001. However, volunteering resources according the period of the foundation of church showed its significant difference on F=3.15, at the level of p<.05, and also showing F=3.06 at the level of p<.05, significant difference in the expert resource.
In the finance-aid according to the activation of the pastorate for the aged welfare, there was no significance among gender and ages of pastors, but showing difference by their career, indicating F=3.33 at the level of p<.05, and also showing F=3.58 at the level of p<.01 by the period of the establishment of church, and F=5.93 at the level of p<.001 in the number of church goers.
In the purpose of the activation of the pastorate for the aged welfare, there was a significant difference by the aged of pastors from the result of χ2=42.65 at the level of p<.001, and showing χ2=34.92 at the level of p<.01 by career as well. According to education degree, it was shown of a significant difference on χ2=32.17 at the level of p<.001. And in the period of founding church, it was shown of a significant difference on χ2=35.90 at the level of p<.01. There was a significant difference, showing χ2=38.86 at the level of p<.001 according to the period of the establishment of church.
Through the study which suggested practical measures to realize the pastorate for the aged welfare from the point of view of pastors in the current aging society, church should be reborn with various social welfare resources for the promotion of the old welfare, which in turn, will lead to its primary responsibilities for the society, and in order to more confirm its identity, effective applications of human resources, financial resources and facility assistance of church should be done for the activation of the pastorate for the aged welfare of the aging society and studies about these will be continuously progressed.
