The purpose of this study is to examine the effusiveness of cognitive behavior model to female victims from family violence who are suffering from symptom of depression and low self-esteem.
For the cognitive behavior programs practice, a survey has been conducted of five female victims from family violence, who were institutionalized in recreation space for female victims from family violence, throughout total 10 times for 150 minutes once a week.
For the analysis of cognitive behavior program, this research has made the examination on how the three variable factors, such as self-esteem, depression, and subjective quality of life would become changed with the help of previous- and post-scale test described by respondents. the study has earmarked each average and standard deviation of previous- and post-score, conducting T and U tests of Wilcoxon Singed-Ranks and Mann-Whitney, respectively, with the aid of SPSS 12.0. Also, this research has attempted to demonstrate the effectiveness of cognitive behavior program, by amplifying quantitative changes, through case lists chronically written by observers.
Before and after cognitive behavior programs were conducted, the participants have undergone some changes as follows: firstly, all the participants have showed the high changing aspects by having the increased self-esteem. particularly, they have remarkably overcome their low self-esteem, which most females used to feel in traditional patriarch-oriented family and family violence.
Secondly, they have suffered from less sense of sadness, frustration and disappointment. Also, they have had noticeably even less depression.
Thirdly, they have been found to undergo the remarkably positive changes in the aspect of subjective quality of life, before and after such cognitive behavior programs were conducted, proving that the cognitive behavior programs have had the effective influences on helping female victims from family violence improve their subjective quality of life. these research results verify through quantitative effectiveness test and tangible data, that the cognitive behavior programs conducted by this research, have the positive effects on female victims from family violence.
And this research has proposed to implement what's called resource integration programs as the means to relieve off low esteems and helplessness that most females can feel owing to their limited rights, in korean society, with the proposal to create females to perceive their rights and improve their economic and social climates. besides, this thesis has suggested to accelerate self-help meetings as part of a bid to maintain a wide range of training and learning acquired from cognitive behavior programs and the effect on treating wounds from family violence after the termination of cognitive behavior programs.
Thus, this research can be mentioned to gain the basic ground for cognitive behavior programs for female victims from family violence to be devised in the future, by proving the clinical effectiveness of cognitive behavior programs and suggesting the future direction that such programs for victims from family violence will head for.
These developments would not only prompt upcoming cognitive behavior programs for a wide variety of potential females from family violence to surge. and these would contribute to helping social worker practitioners make the more effective interventions on solving problems related to family violence.
