태권도 시범단의 발전방안에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Improvement of Tae Kwon Do Demonstration Team

The purpose of this study was to delve into college taekwondo demonstration teams, to seek ways of dynamizing demonstration by the teams, and finally to help determine some of the right directions for the teams.
Five colleges equipped with taekwondo demonstration teams as part of the taekwondo departments were selected: Korea National Sport University, Yongin University, Keymyung University, Kyunghee University and Kyungwon University. A survey was conduced to compare the five colleges in terms of student satisfaction level with demonstration and future directions for the teams. The instrument used in this study was questionnaires that consisted of 26 items, including 23 about satisfaction with the demonstration teams and three about their future directions.
After the survey was taken with the self-administrated questionnaires, the collected data were analyzed with SPSS/PC+ 12.0V program. Oneway ANOVA was utilized to assess the members' satisfaction level with the demonstration teams, and frequency analysis was carried out to see in which direction the teams should be led.
1. Satisfaction Level with the College Demonstration Teams
There was a significant difference in satisfaction level with the management of the college demonstration teams. As for the reason, the leaders who run the teams were selected once a year, and the way the teams gathered opinions from their members was not the same as a consequence. And whether the students who were dispatched abroad were selected in an impartial manner was different as well.
Their satisfaction level with the college demonstration teams in theoretical aspect was significantly different. Some of the colleges allowed the students to put what they learned in class into practice, but the others just leaned toward theoretical education without trying to let the students apply what they learned.
There was a significant difference in satisfaction level with the demonstration and training facilities of the college demonstration teams. Some of the schools that were highly concerned about the demonstration teams provided plenty of required facilities and properties, but the others just had the demonstration teams secure necessary things on their own.
2. Taekwondo Development Plans
As a result of asking in which direction taekwondo demonstration should be led, 59.2 percent found it advisable to give demonstration in the form of performance such as drama or musical. 22.1 percent asked for the form of match(demonstration competition), and 13.4 percent just wanted to stick to the existing form of demonstration. 5.4 percent called for other forms of demonstration. Thus, they considered it necessary for taekwondo demonstration to be given in the form of performance(drama or musical) or match(demonstration competition), instead of clinging to existing practices.
As for how to ensure the successful development and application of new programs, 34.1 percent placed emphasis on interchange with other colleges and research efforts, and 29.1 percent attached importance to internal conference. 26.8 percent found it necessary to apply other sporting events to taekwondo demonstration, and 6.0 percent put stress on practice. 4.0 percent attached importance to the unity of team members.
As for a favorite demonstration place, taekwondo halls were most preferred, followed by stage and indoor gyms. The fourth largest group answered the place didn't matter, and the fifth greatest group preferred grounds.
In conclusion, colleges should pay more attention to demonstration teams, theoretical education about taekwondo and relevant facilities, and try to step up the development of demonstration teams. In order for taekwondo demonstration to be conducted in the form of performance or competition, taekwondo demonstration teams themselves should make an attempt to make it happen.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 대학 태권도 시범단의 전반적인 측면을 살펴보고 시범의 활성화 방안과 미래지향적 방향성의 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다.
이 같은 목적에 의거 대학태권도 학과에 시범단을 구성하고 있는 한국체육대학교, 용인대학교, 계명대학교, 경희대학교, 경원대학교의 5개 학교를 조사대상으로 하여 시범에 대한 만족도와 발전방향을 알아보기 위해 비교 분석하였다. 연구에 사용한 측정도구는 설문지로 대학시범단의 만족도에 관한 문항23문항, 발전방향에 관한 문항3문항으로 총 26문항으로 이루어져있다.
자기평가 기입법(self-administration method)으로 작성된 설문지로 수집된 자료는 Windows용 SPSS/PC+ 12.0V을 이용하여 본 연구의 목적에 따라 시범단에 대한 만족도를 알아보기 위해 일원변량 분석을 실시하였으며, 시범단의 발전방향을 알아보기 위해서 빈도를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.
1. 학교 시범단에 대한 만족도
현재 대학시범단의 운영에 대한 만족도에서는 유의한 차이가 나타났다.
이는 대학시범단의 경우 시범단장을 일 년에 한번 선발하여 시범단을 운영하기 때문에 단원들의 의견수렴과 해외파견선발의 공정성 등이 학교별로 차이가 나타난다고 사료된다.
대학시범단의 이론적 측면에 대한 만족도에서는 유의한 차이가 나타났다.
이는 학교교육과정에서 배우는 시범론이 시범에 직접 적용 가능하여 실재 시범에 활용되는 학교가 있는 반면 이론적인 것에만 치중해 있어 활용이 잘 되지 못하는 경우가 있어 이러한 차이가 나타나는 것으로 사료된다.
대학시범단의 시범 및 훈련 시설에 대한 만족도에서는 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 이는 학교에서 시범단에 대한 관심이 높아 시설이나 소품에 대한 지원이 잘되어 있는 학교가 있는 반면 시범단 자체에서 물품이나 시설이나 소품을 해결해야 하는 경우와 같은 차이를 보이므로 이러한 차이가 나타나는 것으로 사료된다.
2. 태권도 발전방안
태권도의 시범이 어떠한 방향으로 발전되어야 한다고 생각하는가에 대한 질문에 공연(연극?뮤지컬)형태 59.2%, 경기형태(시범대회) 22.1%, 기존의 시범형태 13.4%, 기타 5.4%로 기존의 시범 형태보다 공연(연극?뮤지컬)형태, 경기형태(시범대회)로의 발전해야 한다고 나타났다.
새로운 프로그램을 개발하고 효과적으로 적용하기 위해서는 타 학교의 교류와 연구 34.1%, 자체내회의 29.1%, 타 스포츠 적용 26.8%, 연습 6.0%, 시범단원들의 단합 4.0% 순으로 나타났다.
시범 시 가장 선호하는 장소는 어디라고 생각하는가에 대한 질문에 프로매트도장, 무대, 실내체육관, 기타(장소와 상관없다), 운동장순으로 선호하는 것으로 나타났다.
결과적으로 현재 대학에서는 시범단에 대한 이론적 측면과 시설 측면에 관심을 가져 대학 시범단의 발전에 도움을 주어야 하며, 앞으로의 태권도시범의 형태가 공연이나 경기형식으로 가기 위해 태권도 시범단 자체에서 이러한 시도가 이루어져야 할 것이다.
