국문 초록 (Abstract)

다문화 가족 상담을 위한 초등학교 교사의 역할과 지원 방안

본 연구에서는 다문화가정이 늘어나는 시대 분위기에 발맞추어 이들에 대해 관심을 갖고, 다문화가정 자녀들의 다양한 심리적인 문제에 초점을 맞추어 이들의 학교에서의 특성 및 문제점을 밝혀보고, 이들을 담당하고 있는 교사들의 어려움을 파악하고, 이를 통해 다문화가정의 자녀들이 보 다 효율적으로 학교에 적응할 수 있는 교육학적 시사점을 도출해내고자 하였다.
연구문제 1. 다문화 가정 자녀들이 초등학교에서 어떤 교육적 문제를 갖 고 있는가?
연구문제 2. 다문화 가정 자녀들을 지도하고 있는 교사들의 어려움은 무 엇인가?
본 연구는 경기도 성남시 중원구의 교사들 중 다문화가정의 자녀들을 지 도하고 있는 교사 10명을 대상으로 심층면접을 시행하고, 이에 따른 분석 을 시행하였다.
연구결과 외국인 부모의 영향으로 인하여 언어사용에 문제점이 나타났 다. 다문화가정 아동들이 쉽게 따라 할 수 있는 통합된 교재 개발이 필요 하며 한국어 및 부족한 교과를 지도할 수 있는 방과 후 학교 프로그램을 개설 할 필요성이 있다.
둘째, 다문화가정의 외국 출신 어머니를 위한 교육 프로그램 등이 교육 당국 차원에서 이루어져야 한다. 한국의 학교 제도에 익숙하지 않은 부모 들을 위해 학교생활 안내를 다양한 언어로 소개할 필요가 있다.
셋째, 다문화가정의 자녀를 지도하는 교사의 역량을 강화하기 위해 교원 자격 연수를 실시하며, 다문화가정의 자녀를 직접 지도하는 교사의 연수 뿐 아니라 다문화가정의 아동의 입학이나 재학할 경우를 대비하여 전 교 사를 대상으로 위와 같은 연수를 실시하여야 한다.
마지막으로, 다문화가정의 아동이나 학부모, 교사를 대상으로 하는 교육 프로그램의 개발뿐만 아니라 다문화가정이 아닌 학생들과 시민들을 대상 으로 한 다문화 이해 교육과 포용력(tolerance)을 기르기 위한 교육 프로 그램의 개발도 중요하다.
