직업탐색 프로그램이 초등학생의 진로태도, 진로자아효능감 및 진로흥미에 미치는 효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대는 과학과 기술이 주도하는 지식기반사회로서 직업의 전문화와 분화가 급속도로 이루어지고 직업의 수도 점점 더 많아져 어떤 종류의 직업이 있고 어떤 일을 하는지 쉽게 파악하기 어렵게 되었다. 이런 시대적인 흐름에 발맞춰 학교교육은 학생들에게 장래 직업선택에 필요한 정보를 제공해 주고 직업세계에 필요한 능력과 태도를 길러줄 필요가 있다. 즉 성장하는 학생들에게 미래의 변화하는 직업세계에 대한 이해와 긍정적인 태도를 갖도록 지도하고 적성과 소질에 맞는 직업을 선택하는데 도움이 되는 진로교육의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 초등학생들이 다양한 직업세계를 탐색하여 직업에 대해 친근감을 느끼게 하고, 자신의 흥미와 특기, 적성에 맞는 직업을 모색하도록 하는데 목적을 두고 진행하였다. 이를 위해 초등학교에서 가르쳐야 할 진로교육의 영역 중 일과 직업의 세계 이해영역을 중심으로 프로그램을 구성하였다. 이렇게 구성한 직업탐색 프로그램이 초등학생들의 진로태도, 진로자아효능감 및 진로흥미에 미치는 효과를 살펴보았다.
진로지도가 필요한 학생을 선발하기 위해 경상남도 T시 농어촌 지역에 소재하고 있는 2개 초등학교 5학년과 6학년 200명을 대상으로 진로태도, 진로자아효능감, 진로흥미검사를 실시하여, 진로태도(M=39.08, SD=5.70), 진로자아효능감(M=33.90, SD=16.16), 진로흥미(M=116.20, SD=42.51) 점수 모두가 평균이하인 학생 42명을 선발하였다. 그 중 S초등학교 학생 17명 중 15명을 훈련집단으로 선정하고 G초등학교 학생 25명 중 15명을 무선선발하여 무처치 통제집단에 배정하였다. 프로그램의 지속적인 효과를 검증하기 위해 프로그램이 끝난 후 사후검사를 실시하였고 4주 후 지속검사를 실시하였다. 직업탐색 프로그램 실시 중 2번 이상 결석한 아동 1명과 사후와 지속검사에서 무성의하게 응답한 아동 2명을 제외한 12명과 무처치 통제집단 아동 중에서 장기결석생 1명과 사후, 지속검사에서 무성의하게 응답한 아동 2명을 제외한 12명을 SPSS 프로그램과 Kwakstat(곽호완, 1993)을 사용하여 통계처리 하였고 프로그램을 실시하는 과정에서 회기별 소감문과 프로그램 만족도를 평가하였다.
이러한 과정을 통해 본 연구에서 도출된 결과는 다음과 같다: 첫째, 직업탐색 프로그램은 초등학생의 진로성숙도 중 진로태도를 향상시키는 데 효과적이고 그 효과가 4주 후까지 지속되었다. 둘째, 직업탐색 프로그램은 초등학생의 진로자아효능감과 진로흥미를 향상시키는데 효과적이었고, 그 효과가 4주 후까지 지속되었다. 회기별 소감문을 분석한 결과 참여아동들은 자기 자신에 대해서 더 잘 알게 되었고, 자신의 적성과 흥미에 맞는 진로에 대한 관심을 나타내었다. 또한 직업의 종류가 많다는 것, 원하는 직업을 얻기 위해서는 지금부터 노력해야겠다고 보고하였다. 뿐만 아니라 처음에는 하기 싫었는데 갈수록 재미가 있고 앞으로 진로를 결정하는데 많은 도움이 되겠다고 하였다. 그리고 프로그램을 실시하기 전에는 20여 개의 직업에 대해 알고 있었는데, 프로그램 종료 시점에서는 60여 개 이상을 보고하였다.
본 연구는 첫째, 이론이나 언어중심이 아닌 활동중심으로 프로그램을 구성하였기 때문에 참여아동들이 흥미를 가지고 적극적으로 참여하였고, 둘째, 실질적이고 구체적인 진로지도가 미흡한 농어촌지역의 5, 6학년 학생들에게 직업탐색 프로그램을 실시함으로써 진로태도, 진로자아효능감 및 진로흥미를 향상시키는데 도움을 주었고, 셋째, 진로에 대한 확신, 직업의 소중함과 함께 일에 대한 올바른 가치관과 자신감을 가지도록 하는데 도움을 주었다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 생각된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Modern society rapidly in science and technology is facing a major change into today's job market, bringing about the particular specialization in the society. That means we have difficulty in choosing what kind of a job we should have. In order to keep the face with the needs of the times, formal education needs to provide students with any information that will be requested in the future. Growing concern over recent competitive job market poses new challenges for students choosing their career suitable to their aptitude and ability.
The purpose of this study is to encourage students to look for a lot of information about various careers and by extension, help them seek a job well-suited to their purpose and aptitude. Perspective this study construct a program with priority given to 'Understanding on Careers and Job Market' and examine how a job-searching program has an effect on students' career attitude, career self-efficacy and vocational interest among professional training courses subject to elementary school students.
The selected students to provide career education, this study finally chose 42 students out of 200 students attending G and S elementary school in T city of Gyeongsangnam-do by taking screening procedures such as career attitude, career self-efficacy and vocational interest test, and all of them career attitude(M=39.08, SD=5.70), career self-efficacy(M=33.90, SD=16.16) vocational interest(M=116.20, SD=42.51) are below average. Among them, 15 out of 17 students at S elementary school are chosen as experimental group and 15 out of 25 students as a control group. In order to verify the effects of the program, this study conducted a post-test and follow-up test 4 weeks later. In the middle of vocational exploration program, 12 students excluding 1 student who was absent more than 2 times and answered insincerely in the follow-up test were statistically analysed through SPSS program and Kwakstat(1993) and quarterly report and program satisfaction were evaluated.
The findings of this study are as follows. First, vocational exploration program is effective in improving students' vocational maturity and attitude, which even last for 4 weeks. Second, students can get improvement in career self-efficacy and vocational interest with vocational exploration program. Through analyzing quarterly reports, students get to know themselves much better and show great interest in careers suitable to their aptitude and concern. This is also great opportunity for students to realize that there are various jobs and that this study should do our best to get a job which we want. besides, after finishing this study, students are exposed to further information on up to 60 jobs.
This study makes students attempt actively, because vocational exploration program consists of activity-oriented materials. Furthermore, this study helps students in the rural and fishing areas to stimulate their interest in career attitude, career self-efficacy and vocational interest.
