동요 노랫말 지도를 통한 인성교육 : 초등학교 3, 4학년을 대상으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 초등학교에서 할 수 있는 인성교육의 다양한 방법 가운데 제 7차교육과정 국어교과서와 음악교과서에 실려 있는 동요와 최근 창작동요제에 입상하여 애창되는 곡의 노랫말을 분석하여 노랫말의 내용에 의한 주제를 분류하여 노랫말 내용과 인성 영역과의 관계를 살펴보고 인성지도 자료로서 교과서의 동요와 창작동요의 노랫말이 나아가야 할 방향을 모색하여 인성교육을 하는 데 목적을 두었다.
어린 시절에 불렀던 동요는 우리의 가슴속에 오랫동안 남아 어른이 되어서도 맑고 고운 동심을 불러 일으켜 주고 향수를 느끼게 해 주며 어린 시절 부르고 읊었던 아름다운 노랫말은 그 사람의 신념이나 의식을 변화시킬 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 인성 형성에 영향을 미칠 수 있다.
예술적 내지 교육적 가치를 지니고 있는 동시에 어린이의 변화된 생활과 정서, 흥미, 메말라 가는 인성을 한결 유연하고 풍요롭게 해 줄 수 있는 노랫말이 담겨있는 동요로 성장기의 어린이들을 지도할 때 어린이들의 인성을 곱게 하고 삶을 다채롭고 풍부하게 해 줄 수 있다.
인성 지도는 올바른 가치관의 형성에 그 의의가 있으며 전통적으로 가치관의 형성은 가정의 몫으로 간주되어 왔다. 가정에서 엄한 아버지의 행동을 통하여, 자상한 어머니의 사랑이나 헌신을 통하여. 할아버지나 할머니의 말씀을 통하여 형성되어 왔으며 오늘날 급변하는 사회 속에서는 전통적 방식의 가치관 형성보다는 다양한 방법의 인성교육이 이루어지게 되었다. 그 중에서 학교 교육이 차지하는 비중이 더 늘어났으며, 사회적 요구도 증가하고 있는 것이 저간의 실정이다. 이에 제7차 교육과정에서는 미래 사회에 적합한 인간상으로 지·덕·체의 조화로운 전인적 인간을 추구하고 있다.
3, 4학년의 국어 교과서와 음악 교과서에 게재된 동요의 노랫말 내용으로서 단위수업 시간에 사용되는 제재 68곡 중에서 자연, 고향, 계절, 사물, 동식물을 소재로 창작되어진 노랫말을 제외한 인성덕목과 관련있는 노랫말은 22곡 이었으며, MBC 창작 동요제 1회에서 20회까지 입상한 80곡 중에서 인성덕목과 관련있는 노랫말은 11곡이 차지하게 됨으로써 13.8%만이 인성 덕목과 관련있는 노랫말이었음이 밝혀졌다.
자연, 고향, 계절, 사물, 동식물 등을 노래한 서정적인 노랫말들이 아동들에게 꿈을 심어주고 심성을 곱게 해준다는 것은 여러 논문에서 확인된 바 있다. 그러나 구체적인 인성 덕목을 노랫말로 창작되어진 곡들이 적지 않아 교육현장에서 잘 활용한다면 학교마다 일률적이고 형식적으로 운영되어지는 인성활동이 아닌 어린이 개개인의 내면적인 행복을 찾도록 도와주는 등의 진정한 의미의 인성교육이 이루어지리라 보여진다.
동요의 노랫말 지도를 통하여 아동들에게 친구와의 우정, 효도, 환경보전 등에 대한 구체적 인성 덕목에 대한 인성교육을 도모할 수 있게 되었으며 인성교육이 효나, 우정 환경 보존 뿐만이 아니라 인성 덕목의 갖가지 덕목들을 어린이들이 고루 실천할 수 있도록 의도적인 인성교육이 필요하다는 시사점을 얻게 되었다.
그리고 우리 말에 의한 작시나 번역에 있어서 교훈적인 내용들을 인성 덕목과 관련지은 노랫말을 많이 작시 작곡하여 교육현장에 보급하고 노랫말을 통한 고운 심성과 가치관을 갖게 하여 인성교육이 보다 더 적극적으로 이루어질 수 있도록 두루 노력해야겠다고 여겨진다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this study, the words of children's songs in elementary school music text books and Korean language text books in the seventh education course in various methods of human nature education in school and of the songs prized in children's song creation competitions were analyzed and classified according to the contents of the words of children's songs. And then the relations between the contents of the words and human nature area were reviewed, and the direction of the words of children's songs in text books and in the creation of children's songs is presented for the human nature education.
Children's songs in childhood remind of beautiful children's minds later for a long time even after the children became adults and give enjoyment. And the beautiful words of children's songs can not only affect the formation of their human nature but change their belief or consciousness.
When teachers instruct growing children with words of children's songs which contain child's lives, emotions and interests and with the words of children's songs that can keep human nature from becoming dry, it can make children's human nature beautiful and enrich their lives.
Teaching human nature helps the formation of correct sense of values, which has been traditionally regarded as a home role. It has been formed through strict father's action, careful mother's love or self-sacrifice and words of grandfather and grandmother at home, and human nature education was achieved in various methods, but the sense of values was formed by conventional methods. Now those methods in society have changed rapidly.
The proportion of school education among them increased, and social role is increasing as well. Therefore, the seventh education course is seeking to produce perfect humans in the harmony of knowledge, virtue and health.
Among subject 68 music pieces used to unit classes as contents of words of song published in 3rd or 4th grade music text books and Korean language text books, the words of song related to human nature were 22 music pieces except for the words of song created with materials from nature, hometown, season, things and animals/plants. And the words of song related to human nature were 11 music pieces out of MBC's 80 children's music pieces which won a prize at song creation competitions from the first to 20th contest, which corresponds to 13.8%.
It was confirmed in several papers that the lyrical words of children's songs which depict nature, hometown, season, things, animals/plants, etc. implant dreams and make minds beautiful to children. But, because there are a lot of songs composed with the words of song with specific human nature, if it is utilized well in the education field, teaching true human nature, which helps each person find his internal happiness, will be achieved more, which a formalistic school education cannot bring.
Through teaching words of children's song, specific education of human nature about friendship, filial piety, environmental protection etc. became possible, and the intentional teaching of human nature is needed so that children can practice all characteristics of human nature as well as filial piety, friendship and environmental conservation.
Also, the education of human nature should be positively achieved by composing and supplying the words of song related to virtues of human nature in the education field and by forming beautiful minds and sense of values.
