Investigation on Attitudes of High school students toward Handicapped students
-Focused on the case of Vocational High school students-

The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental data for effective development and expansion of integrated education, by analyzing and comparing the attitudes of high school students in different sexes, religions, experiences of inclusive education, disability awareness education or TV program, different grades.
Subjects of the research were 807 high school students from 1 high school based in S city, Gyeong-Gi province and used 738 students' answers as the final analysis data by filling out the questionnaire.
The collected data were statistically processed through the SPSSWIN(Statical Package for the Social Science, Ver 12.0) program, and their reliability was verified by Cronbach's coefficient.
The results of this study can be outlined in five points.
First, Female high school students show more positive attitudes in accepting the handicapped students. But this study need to prove reasons for the difference between male students and female students.
Secondly, the high school students' religion significantly affect the attitudes toward those with disabilities. Those who have religions toward the handicapped students proved to be more positive attitudes.
Third, in respect to the experience of inclusive classes did affect not major effects but minor effects for the students' attitudes.
Forth, in respect to the experience of disability awareness education or TV program show significant difference in general students' attitudes toward handicapped students. The experienced general students of disability awareness education or TV program show more positive attitudes in accepting the handicapped students.
Fifth, general student's accepting attitudes of handicapped students are more positive in higher grades. This can be interpreted that juvenile students in high grades have mental maturity, good self-esteem and social skills.
In conclusion, recently the educational trend is moving towards the integrated class system. This study provides basic data for expansion of the integrated education system where general students can experience positive relationships with the handicapped students in schools. Positive relationships between general students and the handicapped students in school could lead the disabled to good integration into society
