To analyze the relation between the exercise addiction and the affect of fitness participants, 450 adult male and female persons who had registered for the fitness exercise in Pusan were selected through the quota sampling method. Of the 450 returned questionnaires, the insincere 35 were discarded and the rest 408 were finally analyzed. To verify the concept validity of the data treatment used for this research, the exploratory factor analysis was applied; to verify the reliability, Crondach's α coefficient was found; to verify the factorial difference between the exercise addiction and affect in each variable, the MANOVA was carried out; to verify the difference between the groups, the LSD post-hoc analysis was made; and to confirm the relation between the exercise addiction and affect factors of the fitness participants, the multiple regression analysis by gradual stepwise input method was carried out. The significance level of each statistics was verified in p < .05 and the results are as follows.
      1. Exercise Addiction
      1) For the sexual difference of exercise addiction, men are more serious than women in all factors of the positive addiction, negative addiction exercise desire, and withdrawal symptom.
      2) For the age difference of exercise addiction, the older persons were higher in the positive addiction, and the people in 10s and 20s were higher than those in 30s in the negative addiction. There were no significant differences in the exercise desire and the withdrawal symptom.
      3) For the period difference of exercise addiction, the longer the people had exercised, the higher they were in the positive and negative addictions and the withdrawal symptom. But there was no difference in the exercise desire.
      4) For the participation frequency difference of exercise addiction, the group who had exercised almost everyday were higher than the low participating group in all factors of the positive and negative addictions, exercise desire, and withdrawal symptom.
      5) For the participation time difference of exercise addiction, the group who had exercised more than 2 hours were higher than those exercised less than 2 hours in all factors of the positive and negative addictions, exercise desire, and withdrawal symptom.
      2. Affect
      1) For the sexual difference of affect, men were higher than women in the positive affect. But there was no difference in the negative affect.
      2) For the age difference of affect, there were no differences in the positive affect, but the people in 10s and 20s were higher than those in 30s in the negative affect.
      3) For the period difference of affect, there was no difference.
      4) For the participation frequency difference of affect, the group who had exercised almost everyday were highest in the positive affect, and lowest in the negative affect.
      5) For the participation time difference of affect, the group who had exercised more than 2 hours were highest in the positive affect, and those exercised less than 2 hours were highest in the negative affect.
      3. Analysis on the Influence of Exercise Addiction to the Affect
All the relations between the sub-factors of exercise addiction showed the positive correlations. All the sub-factors of exercise addiction also showed the positive correlations with the positive affect. But the exercise addiction and withdrawal symptom showed negative correlations with the negative affect, and the negative addiction showed the positive correlation with it
      1) The positive exercise addiction and exercise desire were confirmed as the positive variables to influence the positive affect.
      2) And it was also confirmed that the negative addiction gives negative influence and the positive addiction gives positive influence on the negative affect.
