The purpose of this study was to investigate how Judo players' psychological needs such as sense of autonomy, competence and relatedness influence the participation motivation - intrinsic motivation, external motivation and absence of motivation. The subjects were 500 Judo players who had been sampled among Judo players registered at the Korea Sports Council.
The research was conducted in the following procedures : Researchers visited the players to give an explanation of the purpose of the research and get consent from the players before having them filling out the questionnaires. 425 questionnaires were collected to be analyzed after excluding 75 insincere ones. The data of the questionnaires were processed using SPSS v12.0 statistical program.
In order to prove the validity of the concept of the questionnaire, factor analysis was made, and for the purpose of proving the reliability of each variable, Cronbach´s α coefficient was sought. MANOVA was performed to prove the difference according to each variable, multiple regression was adopted to analyze the influence of psychological needs on the guided participation motivation and continuance intention of the guided participation. All the statistical significant levels were performed at p<.05, and the results of this study are as follows:
1. Conclusion
1. Difference of psychological needs
1) It is revealed that males have higher needs in all three factors of gender psychological needs.
2) It is revealed that relatedness has the highest in the group of psychological needs with the adults having highest correlation followed by the high school students.
2. Difference of participation motivation
1) It is revealed that males have higher needs than females in all four factors except for absence of motivation which females have higher needs.
2) It is revealed that competition motivation factor has the highest among guided participation motivations by groups. The group of adults has higher than other groups in all four factors except for absence of motivation. The group of high school students has higher in absence of motivation.

2) It is revealed that the group of adults has the highest continuance intention followed by the group of college students and high school students.
4. Relationship between psychological needs, participation motivation and continuance intention
1) The result of multiple regressive analysis on psychological needs and intrinsic motivation factor is that autonomy factor has the highest correlation in both males and females.
2) The result of multiple regressive analysis on psychological needs and physical motivation factor is that competence has the highest correlation. Males have higher positive relation in competence while females have higher in autonomy.
3) The result of multiple regressive analysis on psychological needs and competition motivation factor is that relatedness factor has the highest correlation. Males have higher positive relation in relatedness while females have higher in autonomy.
4) The result of multiple regressive analysis on psychological needs and ostentation motivation factor is that competence has the highest correlation in both males and females.
5) The result of multiple regressive analysis on psychological needs and absence of motivation factor is that autonomy has the highest correlation. Both males and females have negative relation in autonomy.
6) The result of multiple regressive analysis on psychological needs and continuation intension factor is that autonomy factor has the highest correlation. Both males and females have positive relation in autonomy.
7) The result of multiple regressive analysis on motivation factor and continuation intension of guided participation is that absence of motivation factor has high correlation. Both males and females have positive relation in intrinsic motivation.
