This study researches the relationship among the ego-resilience, social support, and school adjustment of elementary school student, and investigates the influences of school adjustment of elementary school between ego-resilience and social support.
The research question for this study is following that.
First, what is the relationship between the ego-resilience and school adjustment of elementary school student?
Second, what is the relationship between social support and school adjustment of elementary school student?
Third, what is the relationship between the ego-resilience and social support?
Fourth, what is more influential to the school adjustment of elementary school between ego-resilience and social support.
For this study, the sample selected 451 adolescents in 4, 5 and 6 grade of several elementary schools in gyeongsan. They were administrated self reported questionnaire such as ego-resilience, social support, and school adjustment. Statistical methods were frequency, percentage, T-test, correlation, simple regression, and multiple regression analysis(stepwise).
The results of this study are as follows;
First, there was positive correlation between the ego-resilience and school adjustment of elementary school.
Second, there was positive and significant correlation between the social support and school adjustment of elementary school.
Third, there was positive correlation between the ego-resilience and he social support of elementary school.
Fourth, there was a significant difference in the degree of the school adjustment by social support and ego-resilience. Social support may make more contribution to the school adjustment than ego-resilience.
According to the results of this study, ego-resilience and social support are significant factors in the school adjustment of elementary school, and private and environmental factors affect to the school adjustment of elementary school mutually but fragmentarily.
This study suggest that the maladjusted children in school are changed by ego function, support, understanding, and acceptance.
