(abstract)
Enterprise Information Portal(EIP) provides organizations a lot of benefits such as cost reduction, information sharing, better customer service, and strategic advantages over their competitors. Little research has been done for the relationships between utilization of EIP and business performances.
The purpose of this study is to verify and analyze the relationships between utilization of EIP and business performances. Research steps to achieve this purpose are as follows.
First, based on literature review research model was made and data survey was done using questionnaires.
Second, analysis was done using factor analysis, regression analysis and structure equation model using SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 5.0.
The results of this research are as follows.
First, utilization of EIP has a significant impact on business strategies. The types of utilization were different among business strategies groups. Customer-focused strategy group highly utilized EIP than the other groups.
Second, utilization of EIP has a partially significant impact on business performances. Utilization of information, interactions and collaboration has a significant impact on financial perspective, internal business perspective and customer perspective. But utilization of information did not has a significant impact on innovation and learning perspective.
Third, the relationships between business strategies and business performances are as follows.
Customer-focused strategy has a significant impact on internal business perspective and customer perspective. Electronic cooperation strategy has a significant impact on financial perspective and innovation and learning perspective.
Fourth, business strategies are acting as a parameter between utilization of EIP and business performances.
The result of this study can provide guidelines when a company wishes to introduce and utilize EIP. However the study associated with many of the properties and characteristics of EIP is needed in the future research.
