    The effects of planning and information processing style on the achievement in five areas of Mathematics.

    (Abstract)
    The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of planning and information processing style on the achievement in five areas of the Mathematics. The research proposals set up for this study are as follows:
    1. Is there different achievement in five areas of the Mathematics according to the children's planning ability?
    2. Is there different achievement in five areas of the Mathematics according to the children's information processing style?
    3. Is there different achievement in five areas of the Mathematics according to the children's planning ability and information processing style?
    Thekorea CAS Cognitive Assessmeny System Intellligence Test was given to 20 children under the age of five, who attend the P. kindergarten in the city of Daegu: 20 children from each sequential and simultaneous processing style were randomly sampled, based on their information processing styles.
    Considreing the planning Quotient, each group was divided into high planning level and low planning level group.
    Kim, Ji-Young's Young Children's Math Ability Test was given to each 4 groups to evaluate the achievement in five areas of the Mathematics. The planning and information processing style were used as a dependent variables, the five areas of the mathematics scores were independent variable. The task was executed with MANOVA.

    The results are presented below:
    First, there was statistically significant difference in the algebra and geometry areas according to the children's planning ability.
    second, the sequential processing style children had obtained the higher scores in the algebra, the simultaneous processing style children had obtained the higher scores in the geometry and data analysis and probability ares of the Mathematics according to the children's planning ability information style.
    third, there was no statistically significant different achievement in the five areas of the mathematics according to the children's planning and information processing style this results indicate that the planning and information processing style performance in different areas of Mathematics
