This thesis was intended to empirically examine the influence of hotel workers? satisfaction in training programs on their occupational satisfaction level. Through the survey of the employees working for top-rated hotels in Korea, we have reached the findings summarized below.
First, the content of training programs, the attitude of trainee, educational environment and facilities have statistically-meaningful positive correlation to the programs? satisfaction level.
Second, employee satisfaction in occupational training has demonstrated statistically-meaningful positive correlation to their job satisfaction in general.
Third, examining the linkages between service training to the satisfaction in training programs and the overall job satisfaction, we saw a 3.7% increase from service training programs alone, and an additional 1.2% increase from the combination of service training and educational satisfaction. That leads to the conclusion that application of the variables such as educational content and satisfaction level in training program has increased the reliability in the survey. In other words, satisfaction in training is the key linkage leveraging the influence of educational contents to the occupational satisfaction.
Enhanced job satisfaction through occupational training reduces the number of job changes, increases customer satisfaction. In this vein, the development of education and training programs for hotel employees should be carried out in consideration of their job positions, their occupational requests and main duties in order to create greater synergy to raise customer satisfaction.
