여성 및 자녀동반 여성 노숙인을 위한 쉼터 계획에 관한 연구 = (The) study on the interior planning of shelter for the homeless women and women with children

국문 초록 (Abstract)

IMF이후 급증한 노숙인중 여성 노숙인과 자녀를 동반한 여성 노숙인 인구도 무시할 수 없을 정도로 많이 늘어나고 있다. 남편의 자살과 동시에 길거리 신세가 된 여성과 그들의 자녀들, 폭행, 성폭행 등으로 인해 집을 나온 여성, 노숙도중 성폭행을 당해 임신한 여성 등 너무나 많은 여성들이 비참하게 길거리를 방황하고 있는 것이 지금의 실정이다. 물론 여성과 자녀를 위한 노숙인 쉼터와 시설은 있지만, 오랫동안 머물지 않고 다시 거리 노숙을 택하는 여성도 많다. 단신여성과는 달리 자녀를 동반한 여성노숙인의 경우에는 그나마 신체적으로나 정신적으로 건강한 편이어서 삶에 의지나 사회복귀 확률이 높고 쉼터를 이용하는 경우가 많다.
따라서 본 연구에서는 여성노숙인과 자녀를 동반한 여성 노숙인의 원인과 문제점을 살펴보고 분석함으로서 이들의 심리상태를 파악하고 기존 쉼터에 대한 문제점을 반영해 이들을 배려한 시설 계획과 프로그램으로 사회에 복귀했을 때 원만한 인간관계와 사회적응에 도움을 주고자 여성과 그들의 자녀를 위한 공간을 계획하고자 한다. 연구의 방법과 진행은 다음과 같다.
1. 노숙인과 여성과 자녀동반 여성 노숙인에 대해 이론적으로 이해하고, 국내뿐 아니라 국외에서 지원하는 서비스와 현황 등을 살펴본다.
2. 사례조사를 통해 기존 쉼터의 잘된 점과 잘못된 점을 파악하고 개선방안을 찾는다.
3. 프로그램 계획과 도출된 이론 자료를 통해 실내계획을 세우고 결론을 세운다. 그 내용은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 안정된 공간 계획과 간접 치료 효과를 돕기 위해 공간에 간적접, 부분적으로 컬러 치료 효과를 적용하여 실내 분위기를 통해 안정감과 긍정적인 효과를 얻게 한다. 둘째, 자신만의 공간을 만들어 주기 위해 숙소를 개개인만의 공간을 마련해 주고 ?내 집?이라는 개념을 심어 준다. 이를 통해 개인의 프라이버시를 존중하며 심리적, 정신적으로 안정적인 공간을 조성해 주는 것이 중요하다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

After the IMF in Korea, homelessness is increasing rapidly, and the number of homeless single women and women with children are becoming as plentiful as homeless men. Single women and women with children become homeless usually because of the suicide of or assault by their husbands. Some single homeless women have been sexually assaulted by homeless men on the streets. This results in some pregnant homeless women. These cases show that these are the current conditions in Korea?many miserable women and children are wandering the streets.
Of course, there are some shelters and facilities for homeless single women and women with children, but many of them choose to go back to the street. Homeless women with children are physically and mentally healthier than homeless single women. So, the will to live and the probability of returning to society are high. Also, more homeless women with children use shelters than single homeless women do.
Therefore, this study includes programs concerning shelters for homeless single women and women with children based on current shelter setups. This study will investigate the problems and current conditions of homeless shelters by comparing and contrasting Korean shelters and US shelters.
The method and process of research are as follows:
1. Understand single homeless women and homeless women with children in Korea and the US and study their services and present conditions.
2. Investigate the problems of present shelters and determine ways to improve the problems.
3. Plan interior space according to the outcomes of program schedules and research theory.
Interior space planning is as follows:
1. Focus on therapeutic effects, partly for indirectness and stabilized spaces so that the interior?s atmosphere encourages a sense of stability and affirmation.
2. Arrange each person?s own space for privacy and help them to feel a conscious concept of "my home".
This gives them respect and privacy, as well as some physical and mental stability due to this personal space.
