Although many Korean organizations have been experiencing a team system over 30 years, they are not convinced of its effectiveness. As experience and empirical research reports being accumulated, however, things become clear that which element is essential to improve team’s effectiveness: team leader’s leadership.
The leadership which is needed for the team-system is not an ‘Authoritarian’ or ‘Task-oriented’ leadership, but a ‘Visionary’, ‘Creative’, ‘Inspirational’ and ‘Charismatic’ leadership called ‘Transformational Leadership’. Unexceptionally, all these kind of Leadership attempts are communication processes. Consequently, we can argue that the leadership represents a leader’s communication competency. Therefore we can assume that the necessity of novel & distinguished leadership might mean the need of innovated communication excellence. Unfortunately, however, there has been little research attention on communication approach to leadership. What is worse, most of researches on leadership put too much emphasis on the communication styles rather than on the contents.
Therefore, this thesis is to seek the mediating effect of communication competency between the leadership style and work-related attitude. Through the multiple regression analysis, a path analysis model was derived.
