    유치원 자유선택활동시간중 수.조작영역에서의 게임활동이 유아의 수학적 능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 다음의 연구목적을 설전하였다.
    게임을 통한 유아 수학교육이 유아의 수학적 능력에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
    1. 게임을 통한 유아 수학활동이 유아의 수개념에 영향을 미치는가

    위와같은 연구문제를 토대로 만4,5세 유아 36명을 실험집단과 비교집단으로 나누어 연구하였으며 연구 자료의 분석은 SPSS통계처리를 이용, 비모수통계인 Mann-Whitney 검증을 하였다.
    본 연구의 결과로 유아의 수학적능력은 게임을 통한 유아수학활동을 경험한 실험집단과 비교집단을 대상으로 실시한 수능력, 순서짓기능력, 공간과 도형능력, 측정 및 시간능력, 통계능력 검사에서 두 집단간에 유의미한 차이가 있었으므로 수, 순서짓기, 공간과 도형, 측정 및 시간, 통계능력에 게임활동이 효과적임은 물론, 유아들의 수학적 능력을 배양하는데 유의미한 활동이 되었음을 알 수 있다.

    The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate in the effect of game activities a part of realm among free choice to children’s mathematical knowledge, choose more effective teaching methods for infants, and to offer materials for proper infants teaching skill. According to these purpose, detailed research themes are set. How is the effect of number-operation education through game activities for children’s mathematical knowledge?
    1.Does umber-operatio education game activities affect infants’ general idea on numbers?
    2.Does number-operation education game activities affect infants’ general idea on numbering?
    3.Does number-operation education through game activities affect infants’ general idea on space and figure?
    4. Does number-operation education through game activities affect infants’ general idea on measure and time?
    5.Does number-operation education through game activities affect infants’ ability of statistics?
    The object of this study is age 4-5 36 infants who have similar economical and societal background of D pre-school placed in Nowon-gu, Seoul. Among them, 10 of age 5 infants, and 8 of age 4 infants are set as a comparison group.
    Experimental group took mathematical game activities 3times a week as free choice of pre-school, and comparison group chose subject along their teachers and activity longed for 10-15minutes per each subject while free choice time was 45minutes a day. Besides, after 2weeks activities, experimental group made and use "Animals alive" as a life related study book for improvement of mathematical ability through game activities.
    In this research, the research tool to measure infants’ ability of mathematics was originated from "Stanford Early School Achievement Test" written by The Psychological Corporation. Researcher pre-researched and used the mathematical capacity check up list referred, modified ? completed and reconstructed by Deukseung Park to study on infants. Materials were analyzedby using SPSS statistical data and after output average and standard deviation ofmathematical ability of experimental group and comparison group, the result was verified by Mann-Whitney. The result of this research is as below.
    It is defined that mathematical game activity has positive effects on infant’s mathematical ability. Also, there were meaningful differences between experimental group and comparison group of numbers, numbering, space and geometry, measurement and time, statistics as subordinate concepts of mathematical ability development test.
    Game activity defined here was related with ‘recognition of logical and mathematical values through concrete object operation’ suggested as a mathematic education proposal of Korean 6th curriculums and pre-schools choose mathematic game activity as a free choice activity time. Also, most of pre-school choose mathematic as a part of free choice activity time. This is same aspect as the most frequent used proposal at "Research on usage of framing children teaching-learning proposal" written by Suk-hyun Oh is the core living theme type.
    In the same way, for mathematical activity time, 2-3times a week is the most popular case as free choice activity. For mathematic class as a daily lesson, ‘scant’ is implied among average(52.6%), scant(39.6%), sufficient(7.8%) according to Hae-su Hwang. This shows us that we need to find a way to make up for the week points of children mathematic education. According to this aspect, a game activity of this research is a suitable teaching-learning method that educates and evaluates at the same time since it is the most natural way to be learned, the most effective way to enhance children’s potential and the proper scaffolding teaching method.
    This research implies mathematical ability activity is effective in numbers, numbering, space and geometry, measurementand time, statistics for the reason that there was meaningful differences in those areas between experimental group and comparison group.
    Hereby, mathematic education through game clarified in this research is meaningful activity to enhance mathematical ability for children.
