골프장 운영이 지역주민에게 미치는 환경오염 정도에 관한 연구 : 제주도 골프장을 중심으로 = A Study on environmental pollution of management of golf course impacted on local residents:the case of Jeju

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The industry of a golf course in the future will be positively promoted through the nation. In this situation, this research examines the management of a golf course theoretically and postivistically and studies the literature in order to know the characteristics of golf courses in Jeju.

The main reason of environmental pollution of a golf course is the limit of golf policy of government with environment. The environmental conflict with golf course is caused, because government cannot control the pollution.

The view of golf in Korea coexists with personal needs and criticism of social expenses. Golf is one of the most valuable sports in improving and maintaining the physical health as well as mental health. On the other hand, golf is the main cause ofpollution and destruction of natural environment, according to the ecologists and local residents. Also people see golf as a sport of luxury and lavishness for a privileged minority. Therefore the thesis shows how a golf course affects the environment of Jeju through the survey research to residents of Jeju. The result of the survey research signifies that "age" and "occupation" is not considered to be demographical factors explaining the different view of environmental pollution of a golf course.

In conclusion, government should set up innovative policy resolving the current environmentpollution in order to help golf become a popular sport for all, not just for the privileged.
