There are many studies on inducing conventions in domestic country nowadays. Also there are some papers dealing with economic effects related from inducing conventions, analysis to strengthening international competitiveness for venue selection. support plans, satisfaction of participants, and re-participation.
However in order to find out substantial plans for revitalization of convention, it is necessary to research on how important factors are different according to participants and make clear the difference through understanding the point of view of convention participants.
This study aims to contribute the revitalization of domestic convention industry to heighten participant's satisfaction throughvaluable information to convention planners which are trying to attract corporation as well as association conventions.
The aims of this study are like the following
First, it intends to analyze convention participation decision making factors through preceding researches and draw convention participation decision making factors which are considered important.
Second, it aims to determine proper convention participation decision making factors by summarizing the variables of convention decision factors which were obtained from previous studies.
Third, it aims to make clear the difference of convention participation decision making factors between corporation and association participants.
Fourth, it aims to find out whether the priority of convention participation decision making factors have greatly influence on participants' satisfaction or not.
Fifth, it aims to analyze the difference of convention participation decision making factors which have influence on satisfaction between corporation and association participants.
To analyze the data, the statistical analysis was conducted like the following.
First, in regards to convention participation of respondents, characteristics such as representatives, rules, confidencebeen analyzed through frequency analysis.
Second, factor analysis has been used for convention participation decision factors to get rid of unnecessary variables, the summary of materials, and structure of variables, also as for the drawing factor models, "PCA (principal component analysis)" has been used and, as a factor rotation, "Varimax" among orthogonal rotations has been used.
Third, I analyzed the ranks using the average of response through technical analysis in factor and characteristics aspects.
Fourth, T -Test has been carried out to analyze the difference of convention participation decision making factors of corporation and association participants.
Fifth, "Log Likelihood Function Analysis" and "Regression Analysis" have been used to find out the difference of influence on satisfaction concerning convention participation decision making factors,
In summary, analysis of the result implies as the following.
First, as a result of ranking analysis for the average between total respondents and corporation respondents regarding participation deciding making factors, it has perceived that convenience of the usage conference hall, facilities, service, cost, hotel, local tours in that order are important.
Second, it is found out that corporation participants considered that these factors, such as safety and security of conference hall, modern facilities, soundproof facilities, and hotel service factors, are importantthan association participants. On the contrary, it is revealed that association participants have considered that the factors, such as scale and arrangement of conference hall, proximity between hotel and conference hall, hotel rate, convenience of moving equipments, are important.
Third, as a result of the difference analysis on convention participation decision making factors between association and corporation participants, it has perceived that local tour and facility factor have a significant difference among groups. Corporation participants have put more emphasis on local tour and conference hall facility factors than association participants.
Fourth, it is revealed that corporation and association participants are perceived differently in regards to convention participation decision making factors which have greatly influence on participant's satisfaction...
Convention industry in Korea is well equipped with various convention related facilities, CVB, and organization by the local autonomous entities such as Seoul, Daejeon, Busan, Daegu, Jeju, Suwon, Ilsan, Kwangju, and Incheon, through establishing each convention center, however there are not enough studies on factors or benefits which are pursued by association and corporation participants.
As the demands of corporation and association becomes diversified, it is necessary to hold conventions focusing on each different participation decision making factors for the purpose of meeting participants' demand to maximize their satisfaction. Also it is necessary to find out various participation decision making factors and make close inquiries into them.
Accordingly the standards of market segmentation to attractand association participants should be provided and also further studies on the variety of each participant are required.
