The purpose of the study was to verify the effect of creative training through math activities on creative human nature and emotional intelligence of early children.
The study set up the following assumption to achieve its purpose.
First, the experimental group which had a creative training through math activities would have an effect on increase of a creative human nature in comparison with the control group which had traditional math activities.
Second, the experimental group which had a creative training through math activities would have an effect on increase of an emotional intelligence in comparison with the control group which had traditional math activities.
To verify these assumptions, the study divided 80 early children of full 5 years old at K kindergarten in Busan into each experimental group and control group at random. The study enforced pre-inspection with the creative character inspection by Jeon, Gyeong Won (2003) and the emotional intelligence inspection of early children by Kim, Gyeong Hoi (1998) to all members of the experimental group and the control group before experiment, which was enforced over total 30 times through weekly 3 times for 10 weeks.
The researcher drew up the teaching studying plan for creative training math activities applied to the experimental groupby abstracting subjects to utilize the creative training corresponding to the level of early children who were 5 years old on the basis of the 6th educational course.
For post-inspection, the study enforced the creative character inspection by Jeon, Gyeong Won (2003) and the emotional intelligence inspection of early children by Kim, Gyeong Hoi (1998) equal to the pre-inspection to examine the increase effect of the creative human nature and the emotional intelligence of early children. Also, the study enforced the analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) for the result of the inspection.
The result of verification for the assumption of the study progressed according to this procedure was as follows.
First, the creative training through math activities had a significant effect on the increase of the creative human nature of early children.
Second, the creative training through math activities had a significant effect on the increase of the emotional intelligence of early children.
On the basis of the result of the study, several proposals for a study direction hereafter is as follows.
First, the experiment of the study enforced for 10 weeks to investigate the effect of the creative training through math activities on the creativehuman nature and the emotional intelligence of early children within short term. Therefore, the succeeding study has the necessity to verify the effect over a long term.
Second, the study verified the effect of the creative training through math activities on the creative human nature and the emotional intelligence of early children. Therefore, the succeeding study needs to investigate the effect the creative training through various activities on the creativity and emotional intelligence of early children.
Third, currently activities related to the development of creativity using in the field of early childhood education are things related to language for the most part. Therefore, it is thought that it will bring the integrated effect for the development of creativity of early children to use in the field after developing various creative programs suitable to the level of early children's growth and the educational course of kindergarten
