대학생의 행복 요인 탐색과 척도개발 = Development of a Happiness Scale for the Korean college students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 한국 문화 속에 사는 성인 초기의 대학생 집단이 경험하는 행복요인에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 세 차례의 설문이 실시되었다. 먼저, 서울에 소재한 대학교의 학생 118명으로부터 그들을 행복하게 하는 요인이 무엇인지, 그리고 그 요인이 왜 그들의 행복요인이라고 생각하는지를 질문하여 개방형으로 응답을 얻었고, 이 응답을 토대로 207개의 문항을 추출해 내었다. 두 번째 설문에서는 서울과 경기, 충청도에 소재한 대학의 학생 1300명에게 첫 번째 설문을 통해 추출한 문항에 자신이 해당하는 정도를 응답하게 한 후, 이 응답들을 이용하여 요인분석을 실시하였다. 요인분석 결과 최종 70문항 16요인으로 요약 되었다. 16개의 요인을 각 요인에 속한 문항의 내용을 토대로 명명한 결과, ①대인관계, ②경제력, ③전공적성, ④외모, ⑤가족, ⑥능력.잠재력, ⑦자기관리, ⑧미래목표, ⑨이성 친구, ⑩건강, ⑪휴식.여유, ⑫정서적 안정, ⑬사회 환경, ⑭취미, ⑮자기표현, ⑯긍정적 태도의 16가지 요인으로 구성되었다. 세 번째 설문에서는 2차 설문에서 얻은 최종 70문항과 이 문항들의 수렴 타당도를 알아보기 위해 삶의 만족도 척도(SWLS)와 PANAS척도, 그리고 김명소 등의 의해 개발된 한국 성인의 행복 척도를 서울과 경기 소재 대학의 학생 300명에게 설문하였다. 분석 결과 수용할만한 타당도와 신뢰도를 나타내었다. 본연구의 의의와 제한점, 그리고 후속 연구에 대한 제안에 대해 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was conducted to explore the perception of Korean college students about what is a happy life and what can make them happy. A total of 118 college students participated in open-ended questions, and their responses were reviewed. Content analysis of their reponses yielded 207 characteristics of a happiness. The list of the 207 items was administered to 1300 college students in order to assess their happiness through 5-point Likert scale. Responses from 1062 participants were submitted to exploratory factor analysis. Principal axis factor analysis showed that most factors were unidimensional with moderate reliability. Finally, Happiness Scale for college students was constructed with 70 items in 16 factors. The 16 factors were ①Interpersonal relationship, ②Financial ability, ③Aptitude, ④Appearance, ⑤Family, ⑥Ability·Potential, ⑦Self-control, ⑧Achievement, ⑨Boy/Girl-friend, ⑩Health, ⑪Rest, ⑫Psychological stability, ⑬Social condition, ⑭Interest, ⑮Self expression, ⑯Positive attitude. The Happiness Scale for Korean college students, Subjective wellbeing Scale and Happy life inventory for Korean adult were administered to another 300 college students. Correlation among these scales supported the construct validity of the Happiness Scale for Korean college student. Finally the implications and limitations of the present research and suggestions for further studies were discussed.
