한복이미지 반영을 위한 중등교복에 대한 탐색적 연구 = An Exploratory Study to Reflect the Image of Hanbok into Highschool Uniforms

국문 초록 (Abstract)

교복은 학생이라는 신분을 상징함과 동시에 통학복이자 외출복의 기능을 하며 또래 문화를 반영하는 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 우리나라에서는 1886년 이화학당의 교복을 시작으로 교복의 자율화와 재 착용이라는 제도를 거듭하며 오늘날 서양복의 형태로 고정되어 왔다. 최근, 교복의 다양화, 개성화 경향과 함께 우리 전통한복의 이미지를 표현한 형태의 교복도 일부 학교에서 착용되고 있으나 여전히 이에 대한 연구가 미비한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 우리의 우수한 문화유산인 전통한복을 알리고 자라나는 청소년에게 애국심을 고취시키며 전통복식에 대한 관심을 증대시키기 위해 한복의 이미지를 반영한 중등교복의 현황 및 형태를 분석하고, 학생들을 대상으로 한복의 이미지를 반영한 교복에 대한 선호 디자인 및 태도를 분석하여 한복 교복의 보급에 기여하고자 함을 목적으로 한다.
본 연구를 위하여 현재 한복이미지를 반영한 교복을 착용하고 있는 학교의 하복, 춘추복, 동복의 실물로부터 그 형태를 비교, 분석하였으며 학생들의 한복이미지를 반영한 교복의 선호 디자인과 그 태도를 분석하기 위하여 남녀 고등학교 학생 총 480명을 대상으로 설문지를 배부하였으며 그 중 분석 가능한 설문지 400부를 회수하여 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 한복의 이미지를 반영한 교복을 착용하는 학교는 6개 고등학교와 2개 중학교로 총 8개 학교이며 이 중, 7개 학교의 교복의 형태를 분석한 결과, 남, 여 교복 모두 깃 모양의 네크라인과 저고리에 부분적으로 배색처리를 하고 전통색상을 사용함으로써 한복의 이미지를 표현하고 있었다. 남학생의 교복은 성인의 생활한복과 유사한 형태로 깃 모양만 조금씩 다른 양상을 보이고 있는 반면 여학생 교복의 경우는 생활한복의 형태를 기본으로 하면서 좀 더 다양한 디자인을 보였다.
둘째, 한복의 이미지를 반영한 교복의 선호 디자인 및 태도를 분석한 결과, 학생들은 전통적인 한복의 형태를 그대로 유지하는 디자인보다는 양장 교복의 실루엣을 유지하되 부분적으로 한복의 요소가 가미된 디자인을 더 선호하였으며 전통적인 한국 문양이나 매듭단추, 끝동 등의 배색으로 변화를 주기를 원하였다. 또한 한복의 이미지를 반영한 교복의 이미지가 청소년과 잘 맞지 않다는 이유로 착용을 반대하지만 한복 이미지의 교복이 있어야 하는 것에는 조사 대상 과반수의 학생들이 찬성하였다.
이상의 결과를 살펴 볼 때 한복의 이미지가 우리 교복에 반영되기 위해서는 소재, 디자인, 패턴 및 구성에 있어 한복의 이미지를 학생들의 감각에 맞춰 표현하기 위한 노력이 우선되어야 함을 알 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Demands and attempts to express the beauty of Korean classics are increasing. Recently, school uniforms with designs expressing the image of Hanbok, Korean traditional clothes, is being worn in some schools, but the increment of wearing the uniforms reflecting the image of traditional Hanbok is not evident. In spite of increasing demands for expressing the image of Hanbok, there's few researches investigating the reason why it has been inactive.
In this thesis, we investigate problems and student's attitudes toward the uniform reflecting the image of Hanbok, analyze the design preferred by students, and propose the way to reflect the traditional image in school uniforms, for the sake of activation of school uniforms expressing traditional image.
For this study, we have compared and analyzed the shape of existing uniforms reflecting the image of Hanbok. analyzed student's attitudes toward the uniforms reflecting the image of Hanbok, problems in existing uniforms, and preferred design. We used the questionnaire for 400 high school boys and girls. The results are as follows:
1. The number of schools reflecting the image of Hanbok into their uniforms is eight. While boys' uniforms were similar to adults' improved Hanbok, so called 'Comfortable Hanbok', girls' uniforms showed various design based on style of Comfortable Hanbok.
2. As the result of analyzing preferred design and attitudes toward Hanbok-reflected uniforms, students more preferred the design in which factors of Hanbok is partially added to the silhouettes of Western-style uniforms than the design keeping the traditional style of Hanbok. And although hey were against wearing the uniform reflecting existing Hanbok-image, the majority agreed that there must be Hanbok-imaged uniforms.
From the results stated above, we conclude that in order to reflect the image of Hanbok into the school uniforms, efforts to express the image of Hanbok that is competent to the students' sense are needed most.
