Most applications in sensor network literature are focused on gathering and analyzing data from many sensors in the system environment such as bridge monitoring, patient monitoring, and animal tracking. Recently, there are some needs for remotely controlling the sensor nodes for efficiently managing and updating the system. However, it is impossible to deploy a sever application in each sensor node since they have a few and restricted computing resources.
This paper presents a design and implementation of a light-weight server agent system for remotely controlling senor nodes such as light controller, boiler controller and so on. The main features of server agent framework are to support web services in the limited resources or not efficient memory device and to provide dynamic generation and management of server agents, which are representatives of sensor nodes. Since the size of generated server agents is relatively small, it is suitable for deploying the server agent application in the restricted memory environments.
These server agent concept can be applicable to the manual and automatic generation of the service bundles of OSGi framework in the home network literature.
