어린이집의 부모교육 실태와 학부모 요구에 대한 조사 연구 = (A) study on the parent education program and parent need assessment at childcare centers

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 어린이집의 부모교육 실태와 학부모 요구를 조사하여 어린이집에서 부모교육을 실시하는데 보완되어야 할 부모교육의 내용 및 방법을 알아보는 데 있다. 또한 어린이집 부모교육 활성화를 위해서 교사와 학부모는 어떠한 방법들을 중요시 여기는지 조사하여 부모교육을 활성화시키는 방법을 알아보는 데 있다. 이러한 본 연구의 목적을 이루기 위하여 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
1. 어린이집 부모교육의 실태는 어떠한가?
2. 어린이집 부모교육에 대한 학부모의 요구는 어떠한가?
3. 어린이집 부모교육의 실태와 학부모의 요구 사이에는 어떠한 차이가 있는가?
4. 부모교육 활성화 방법에 대한 교사와 학부모의 인식은 어떠한가?
본 연구의 조사대상은 김천시에 위치한 11개 어린이집의 시설장 및 교사 52명과 이들 어린이집의 학부모 344명이다. 본 연구에서 사용한 측정도구는 교사용 질문지와 부모용 질문지이며, 질문지는 응답자의 개인사항, 부모교육 실시/필요성 이유, 부모교육 내용, 부모교육 실시유형 및 횟수, 부모교육 운영방법, 부모교육 활성화 방법을 묻는 내용으로 구성되어 있다. 조사기간은 약 한 달이었으며, 교사용 질문지는 연구자가 직접 방문하여 배부 및 회수하였고, 부모용 질문지는 각 담임교사를 통해 유아편에 배부 및 회수되었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 11.0을 사용하여 분석하였다.
본 연구에서 얻어진 주요 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 조사대상의 모든 어린이집에서는 학부모들의 올바른 양육태도 함양과 유아발달 및 유아교육에 대한 이해 증진을 위하여 부모교육이 실시되고 있었다.
둘째, 가정통신문은 가장 높은 실시율을 보이는 부모교육 유형이었으며, 홈페이지는 가장 낮은 실시율을 보이는 유형이었다.
셋째, 부모교육 내용 중 실태와 학부모의 요구 사이에 큰 차이를 나타낸 것으로는 유아 학습지도, 재능지도, 좋은 아버지 역할, 부모의 정신건강에 관한 내용 등이 있었다.
넷째, 부모교육 활성화 방법으로 교사와 학부모가 중요시 여기는 내용은 교육과정과 통합된 부모교육 프로그램 개발, 전문강사를 통한 수준 높은 강의, 시설장의 부모교육 필요성 인식강화 등이 있었다.
본 연구에서 얻어진 연구결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같은 결론을 내릴 수 있다. 어린이집에서는 부모교육을 실시하고 있으며 부모교육 유형으로 가정통신문을 가장 많이 사용하고 있다. 부모교육 실시 내용과 학부모의 요구 사이에는 차이가 있다. 따라서 부모교육 내용의 보충이 요구되며, 부모교육 활성화를 위하여는 시설장과 교사의 인식강화 및 재교육, 프로그램 개발, 운영 면에서의 노력 등이 필요하다.
본 연구에서 얻어진 결과를 중심으로 본 연구자는 어린이집에서의 부모교육 활성화를 위하여 다음과 같은 제언을 하고자 한다.
첫째, 학기초에 부모교육에 대한 학부모 요구조사를 실시하여 부모요구에 부합하고 어린이집 교육과정과 통합된 부모교육이 실시되도록 하는 것이 바람직하다.
둘째, 홈페이지 구축을 위한 방안이 모색되어 홈페이지를 통한 부모교육 활용을 늘리도록 하는 것이 좋다.
셋째, 지역사회내 전문인사를 부모교육 강사로 활용할 필요가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the current status of parent education program and parents need for their education program at childcare centers. The concrete objectives of this study were as follows :
1) examining the current status of education program for parents,
2) assessing parents' need for the education program,
3) investigating the differences between the current program and parents' need, and
4) surveying the teachers' and parents' opinions for developing a better parent education program at childcare centers.
The participants of this study were 52 teachers and 344 parents sampled from the eleven childcare centers located in Gimcheon City. Two types of survey questionnaires (one for teachers and the other for parents) were used in order to measure the variables of this study. The questionnaires were consisted of such items as participants' personal profile, operation and content of parent education program, type and frequency of parent education, and so on. The data for teachers were collected by the present researcher and for parents were collected by the chief teacher of each childcare center. This study was conducted for a period of approximately a month. SPSS WIN 11.0 program was used to analyze the data. The followings were the major findings of this study :
1) All the childcare centers participated for the research had an active education program for the parents.
2) 'Updated News Letter' to the parents showed the most effectiveness and utilizing internet homepage demonstrated poor responses.
3) Large differences between current status and parents need were found in the section of children's academic curriculum, gifted child program, role of good father, mental health of parents.
4) In terms of upgrading the quality of parent education program, both the teachers and parents agreed on the importance of developing a unified parent education program and its curriculum, quality lecture by professionals was chosen the most.
On the basis of the findings, suggestions were proposed as follows :
First, it is desirable to make a parent need assessment form and utilize it from the beginning of the school year to provide more effective and unified program for the parents.
Second, it is essential to develop more user friendly homepage for the parents of each childcare center.
Third, hiring more qualified professionals and upgrading the quality of parent education program is needed.
