The purpose of this study was to examine group counseling for high risk internet use during the adolescent period and parenting programs with mothers that reduced high risk internet use in adolescents, improving maternal-child communication, self-control and self-esteem. That object has been K-Scale, after selected and identifying a high potential internet use group at a middle school in Jeonju listed as "I". This study had parenting programs for an adolescent internet use-control group counselling and their mothers(experiment group 1, n=9), only had an internet use-control group in adolescent(experiment group 2, n=9), the control group received no treatment(n=9). Each participant had their K-scale, maternal-child communication, self-control and self-esteem checked before group counseling. After completing their group counseling, they were re-evaluated. The tracking history of test 1 was after the completion of group counseling followed by further testing after 4 weeks. Tracking history of test 2 was conducted after tracking test 1 for a further 9 weeks. The result are as follows. First, the variations between experiment group 1 and group 2 showed significantly reduced internet using total score and subscale(e, g., daily life, withdrawal, addiction) improved self-control and self-esteem. However, the experiment group 1 was only significant which is percept from the mother's communication with her child. Second, the study separately compared none-treatment control group between 1 and 2of experiment groups, so that each group had a significant reduction in the internet use total score and subscale. There was no significant difference between treatment groups 1 and 2. The only significant rise was recorded when comparing treatment group1 and the non-treatment control group of perceptive maternal communication and self-control. Lastly, this study discussed possible suggestions and limitations within its research.
