대통령 기록관의 발전방안에 관한 연구 = A Study on the desirable management method of Presidential Library

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This thesis was intended to lay foundation on the recognition of Presidential Library and suggest the desirable management method of Korean prospective one. For this purpose, in examining throughly the cases of Lyndon B. Johnson and George H. W. Bush of American Presidential Libraries and Korean presidential records, several problems were discovered.
First, There is no political and social system to manage presidential records efficiently.
Second, There is lack of the systematical base for them.
Third, There is no consistent management policy for them.
Fourth, Service program in on-off line is not enough.
To Solve these problems, this study suggests the desirable management method for Korean Presidential Library by examining the practical management cases of American one mentioned earlier. It follows that;
First, It is necessary to establish a status of Presidential Library.
Second, It requires that through the adjustment on the system of Presidential Records Act, detailed and clear clauses to be included should be prescribed in its Code and Regulations and the framework of Presidential Records Act system should be established.
Third, The various forms of presidential records should be secured through the specific and strategic collection policy.
Lastly, The diverse service program should be developed and provided.
Presidential Records Act in 2007 makes it possible to build the exhaustive production, management, protection and application system of the presidential records and embody a clear and responsible administration. In addition to, the arranged institutional basis has people's right to know extended. It means that the secure management system on presidential records us established and they can be transmitted to the future generation.
It is clear for Presidential Library to have symbol and typicality as the central organization on national information. The Korean Presidential Library System is at the starting point by the independent and intensive management of presidential records. In the future, Presidential Library will take charge of each of role and function as pioneer of Korean records and management system.
Most af all, it is expected for Korean Presidential Library system to be taken root through efficient management of Presidential Library.
