영유아교사의 원격연수 실태 및 원격연수프로그램 운영에 대한 요구 조사 = Early childhood teachers' understanding and their needs for in-service distance education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 제주도 소재 영유아교육기관에 재직하고 있는 영유아교사 157명의 설문조사와 24명의 면접조사를 대상으로 원격연수의 실태 및 인식은 어떠한지, 원격연수프로그램에 대한 요구를 조사함으로써 영유아교사의 원격연수의 활성화 및 성공적 운영을 위한 실천적 시사점을 얻는 것이 궁극적인 목적이다. 이러한 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다.
첫째, 영유아교사의 원격연수의 실태 및 인식은 어떠한가?
둘째, 영유아교사의 원격연수프로그램에 대한 요구는 어떠한가?
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 설문조사에 참여한 대다수 영유아교사들은 원격연수 참여 경험이 부족하였으며, 원격연수에 참여한 경험이 있는 대다수 영유아교사들은 민간이 운영하는 교육기관을 통해 원격교육을 경험하였다. 또한, 원격연수의 장점으로는 시간 유연성을, 단점으로는 실기 및 실습과목에 대한 사이버공간에서의 교수자 연수자간의 상호 유대감 형성이 어렵다라고 나타내었다.
한편, 영유아교사들의 설문조사 및 면접조사 결과에서 나타났듯이 원격연수의 현행 문제점으로는 원격연수에 대한 홍보부족을 심각한 문제로 인식하고 있었고, 학습지원체제가 원격연수의 성공을 결정하는 중요한 요인임을 지적하였다.
둘째, 원격연수프로그램에 대한 요구에 대해 영유아교사들은 원격연수의 형태를 원격기반 또는 원격중심의 교육 형태를 기존 교실수업의 형태보다 선호하였다. 응답자들은 원격연수의 가장 적합한 개설시기로는 방학기간과 연중(年中)을 선호하였고'15시간'과'30시간'을 개설 과목당 적합한 교육시간이라고 응답하였다. 또한, 전공과 관련하여 개설을 희망하는 강좌로는 '영유아생활지도'와'영유아특수교육'에 대한 높은 지지율을 나타내었다. 그리고 몇몇 특정 과목들에 대한 요구는 영유아교사의 기관, 학력, 교직경력 그리고 원격연수 경험에 따라 유의한 차이가 나타났음을 알 수 있다. 한편, 본 연구 결과에서 영유아교사들은 적절한 평가 방법으로 원격연수 교육이 진행됨에 따라 평가받기를 선호하였고, 원격연수에 대한 정보는 관할 지역 교육청에서 받을 수 있기를 원하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purposes of this study were to analyze early childhood teachers' understanding of distance education and their needs for its distance education program administration, of 157 respondents and 24 interviewees in Jeju.
The questions in this study were as follows;
First, what is distance education for early childhood teachers like in reality? What do they think are the advantages and disadvantages of distance education and it's important issues for success?
Second, what are the needs for distance education programs with in-service early childhood teachers?
The results of this study were as follows;
First, most of the respondents didn't have many opportunities for participating in distance education and the majority of teachers with experiences in distance education are used to participate in programs provided by private agencies. In addition, early childhood teachers recognized that the advantage of distance education is time flexibility, and disadvantages are difficulties in solidarity and communication between teachers and learners in practicum. Also, the respondents and interviewees in this study also revealed lack of publicity as serious problem, and learning support system as the most important issues in determining success of distance education.
Second, early childhood teachers preferred web-based or web-centered forms to collective ones for their education. Respondents answered that vacation and year-long education session, and 30-hour and 15-hour unit session are most efficient. Additionally, the classes they preferred were 'Guidance for young children', and 'Education for children with special needs'. Studies show that certain classes were needed according to their desired area of work, academics, careers, and experiences of distance educations. The results also showed that they preferred evaluations during the course of study for adequate evaluation methods, and that they wanted to acquire information about distance education from local office of education.
