초등학교 사회과 교육과정에서의 진로교육 내용 연구 = A Study on Career Guide of Elementary Sociology Curriculum

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 폭넓은 교양을 바탕으로 진로를 개척하는 사람을 양성하고자 하는 제7차 교육과정에서, 초등학교 사회과 내용이 진로교육을 어떻게 반영하고 있는가를 분석하고자 하였다.
이러한 연구 목적을 위해 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다.
첫째, 제7차 '사회과 교육과정'의 초등학교 내용에서 진로교육 내용이 어떻게 반영되어 있는가?
둘째, 초등학교 사회 교과서에서는 진로교육 내용영역이 어떻게 반영되어 있는가?
셋째, 제7차 ‘사회과 교육과정’의 초등학교 내용이 사회 교과서에서는 어떻게 제시되어 있는가?
넷째, 초등학교 사회과 교육과정은 초등학교의 진로교육에 적절한가?
본 연구는 이에 대한 연구문제를 분석하기 위해 제7차 ‘사회과 교육과정’과 ‘사회’ 교과서의 내용을 분석하는 문헌연구방법으로 이뤄졌다. ‘사회과 교육과정’과 ‘사회’ 교과서에서 진로교육 7개 영역 (자아 이해, 일의 세계, 일에 대한 긍정적 태도, 의사 결정 능력, 인간관계 기술, 일과 직업의 경제적 측면 이해, 일과 직업의 교육적 측면 이해)을 추출하여 분석해 보았다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 초등학교 ‘사회과 교육과정’ 과 ‘사회’ 교과서에서는 7개 진로교육 영역 중 ‘자아 이해’ 와 ‘일과 직업의 교육적 측면 이해’의 영역이 거의 제시되어 있지 않았고, ‘일의 세계’, ‘일에 대한 긍정적 태도’,’의사 결정 능력‘,’인간관계 기술‘,’일과 직업의 경제적 측면 이해‘ 의 5개 영역은 대체적으로 학년별로 골고루 제시되어 있다. 특히 사회과의 특성상 ‘의사 결정 능력’의 영역을 가장 많이 추출 할 수 있다.
둘째, ‘사회과 교육과정’에서 제시된 진로교육의 내용이 ‘사회’ 교과서에 전반적으로 잘 반영되어 있었으며, ‘사회과 교육과정’에서 진로교육의 내용이 제시되어 있지 않은 단원에서도 교과서에서 적절하게 진로교육의 내용이 제시되어 있는 경우를 찾을 수 있다.
셋째, ‘사회’ 교과서에서 ‘일의 세계’를 추출할 수 있는 내용에서 ‘일에 대한 긍정적 태도’의 내용을 포함하고 있거나, ‘일과 직업의 경제적 측면 이해’의 영역과 ‘인간관계 기술’ 의 내용을 같이 찾을 수 있는 등 여러 진로영역을 포함하는 내용이 많았다.
넷째, 학년별로 사회과 내용에서 진로교육의 목표와 내용이 심화되어 제시되지 않았으며 체계성 없이 진로교육의 내용 제시에 그치고 있다.
그러므로 앞으로 개정되는 초등학교 ‘사회과 교육과정’과 ‘사회’ 교과서에서는 진로 인식 단계에서 중요한 ‘자아 이해’와 ‘일과 직업의 교육적 측면 이해’의 영역을 강조하여 초등학생들이 자신을 좀 더 이해하고 자신에게 관심을 갖도록 하면서 학업의 필요성을 인지할 수 있도록 하여야 할 것이다. 또한 ‘사회과 교육과정’에서 학년별로 심화되는 진로교육의 목표를 제시하여 교과서 집필자들이 진로교육 내용을 더욱 잘 반영할 수 있도록 하고 교사들이 실제 수업에서 활용할 수 있도록 하여야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The study analyzes reflection of career guide in the 7th elementary sociology curriculum that aims to build career development based on a broad range of cultural knowledge.
For the purpose of the study, the following questions were set.
First, how well does the 7th elementary 'sociology curriculum' reflect career guide?
Second, how well does a textbook of elementary sociology reflect career guide?
Third, what does a textbook of elementary sociology suggest career guide in the 7th elementary curriculum?
Fourth, is the elementary sociology curriculum proper to the career guide for elementary students?
The study adopts a descriptive method to analyze the 7th 'sociology curriculum' and a textbook for it. Total seven areas of career guide are extracted from the curriculum and the textbook; including self-understanding, the world of works, a positive attitude toward works, a decision-making ability, technique of personal relations, understanding of an economic aspect of work and a job, and understanding of an educational aspect of work and a job. The analysis results are like followings:
First, the area of 'self-understanding' and 'understanding of an educational aspect of work and a job' among the above seven areas are rarely suggested in the elementary 'sociology curriculum' and a textbook for it. However, the other five areas including 'the world of works', 'a positive attitude toward works', 'a decision-making ability', 'technique of personal relations' and 'understanding of an economic aspect of work and a job' are fairly found in overall curriculum for every grade.
Second, career guide suggested in the 'sociology curriculum' is largely well reflected in the textbook. Even a section that the curriculum does not suggest respective contents often provides career guide in an appropriate way.
Third, the section about 'the world of works' in the textbook includes 'a positive attitude toward works'. In the nature of sociology, the area of 'decision-making ability' can be extracted the most.
Finally, targets and levels of career guide are not improved for each higher grade. Instead fragmentary career guide is suggested overall.
Consequently, an elementary 'sociology curriculum' to be revised in the future and a textbook for it need to emphasize the areas of 'self-understanding' and 'understanding of an education aspect of work and a job' in order to help elementary students to understand themselves, be more interested in themselves and recognize the necessity of learning. Furthermore, setting targets of career guide in the 'sociology curriculum' can help textbook authors to reflect career guide in the curriculum better than before as well as teachers to utilize it actually in the class.
