하나님의 소명으로서의 조부모 역할과 손자녀 양육 사역 = (The) Role of Grandparents in the Divine Calling of God and the Ministry of Grandparenting

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현재 우리나라는 급격한 사회변화와 산업화로 인하여 전통적 대가족에서 부부 중심의 핵가족으로 변화하였고, 국민소득과 생활수준이 향상되었으며, 보건·의료기술의 발달로 평균수명이 연장되었다. 이로 인하여 OECD 국가 가운데 가장 빠르게 고령화 사회로 들어가고 있다. 동시에 맞벌이 부부의 증가로 인한 자녀 양육의 문제로 인해 OECD 국가 가운데 가장 낮은 출산율을 보이며, 저출산·고령화 사회라는 심각한 문제에 봉착하고 있다. 또한 이혼율의 증가와 함께 결손가정의 문제 그리고 재혼으로 인해 새롭게 등장한 가족형태에서 일어나는 문제로 인해 가정과 사회는 무너져 가고 있다.
이러한 현실에서 본 연구는 한국 사회의 과제인 가정문제와 노인문제에 대한 해법을 '손자녀 양육 사역(The ministry of Grandparenting)'의 이해와 실천을 통해 모색해 보고자 하는 데 목적이 있다.
구성과 연구 범위는 다음과 같다. 제1장에서는 문제제기 및 연구 목적과 연구의 범위에 대해 서술하였고, 제2장은 노인, 사회복지, 자원봉사, 양육, 소명에 관한 주요 개념들을 살펴보고 선행연구들을 정리하였다. 제3장에서는 사역의 주체로서의 조부모의 소명, 역할과 자세, 조부모의 손자녀 양육에 대한 외국의 사례들과 사역의 장(場)으로서의 가정에 대해 살펴보았다. 제4장에서는 조부모의 손자녀 양육사역을 실천하기 위해서 교회가 어떻게 도울 수 있는지 그 역할을 살펴보았고, 현재 국내의 교회의 노인 프로그램 현황을 분석하고 프로그램 개발을 위한 방향을 제시하였다. 제5장은 연구를 요약 정리하였다.
교회는 노인들이 손자녀 양육 사역을 통하여 자녀들의 경제적 부담을 덜어주고 애정적인 돌봄으로 긍정적인 가족관계를 형성시키고, 즐겁고 생산적인 여과 활용의 차원에서 이 일을 감당하도록 도와주어야 한다. 교회가 손자녀 양육 사역 프로그램을 개발하여 교육한다면 노인들은 가정에서 성인자녀의 자녀양육 동역자로서 노년의 시기를 재창조의 시기로 삼을 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 유아교 육기관이나 선교원, 주일학교 유아부에서 봉사함으로써 교회사역의 중추로서의 노년기를 보낼 수 있을 것이다. 더 나아가 조부모지원집단（Grandparent Support Group）이나 양조부모 프로그램（Forster Grandparents Program) 등을 개발하여 손자녀를 양육하는 조부모들에게 아동양육 정보를 제공하고 부모가 믿지 않는 아이들의 조부모가 되어 신앙의 모범이 된다면 더욱 더 의미 있는 노년을 보낼 수 있으며 무너져 가는 가정과 사회를 회복시킬 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

During the last two decades, we have experienced the industrialization and rapid social changes in Korea. The traditional extended family system has been replaced by the nuclear family system. The GNP has been increased while the standard of living has been improved. Advanced health service and medical innovations have contributed to the increase in life expectancy, which drives Korea to an aging society. In addition, the recent increase of two-career couples has led to lower birth rates due to a lack of parenting responsibility. Furthermore, the increase of divorce and remarriage rates introduces new types of family, which cause a variety of problems challenging our family and society.
The purpose of this study is to find solutions for the emerging problems in two-income families in an aging society from a perspective of the ministry of grandparenting. This report consists of five chapters. Chapter 1 included the purpose and scope of the study. The literature review on major concepts, such as senior citizen, social welfare, volunteering, parenting, and calling, was provided in Chapter 2. Chapter 3 discussed the role of grandparents in family and cases of grandparenting in other countries. The role of local churches to support grandparenting, the analysis of current continuing education programs for senior citizens offered by local churches, and recommendations for the development of grandparenting education programs were discussed. Finally, the summary was provided in Chapter 5.
The local church should help senior citizens understand grandparenting as an enjoyable and productive leisure activity that can significantly influence the development of positive family relationships in their families. If local churches provide grandparenting education programs for senior citizens, the senior citizens can play a significant role in parenting their grandchildren as a partner with their married children. In addition, they can volunteer to serve daycare centers, Sunday schools, Grandparent Support Groups, and Forster Grandparents Programs, which are sponsored by the local churches, as part of their ministry. This can lead their life in more creative and meaningful ways as they can contribute to healing and recovering dysfunctional families and the aging society.
