The modern society is changing over all sects at high speed. It resulted in some by products. They are the egoism, the individualism and self-based action. The society and children have the vital connection. So to speak, the student can't escape from the effect of the social environment. So the schools must help the children to perform very good role as a member of society.
The purpose of this study was to attempt to identify the relationship between sports activity participation of elementary student and the social development for child. As the result, we got some answers as the followings.
This study was conducted for 482 children in D Metropolitan City. They were selected at random and in 5 or 6 grade every elementary school. The questionnaire was administrated and was analyzed by cross analysis and ANOVA. The findings were the followings.
1. There is no difference in physical action, the location of residence, grade, sex and the schooling of parents, while the sex was influenced to the sports program.
2. The attendance group in the sports program was developed better in sociability compared to the opposite group.
3. There was the difference by the kind of the program.
The spirit of abiding the ruling in individual style and the cooperation spirit and sociability in individual and group style was represented positively.
4. This study also was attempted to identify a relationship between the social development and the program style. There was some clear findings. In the case of the sports program with a leader, there was the spirit of obying the rules, the cooperation spirit, sociability better. But In the case of the opposit group, there was the higher development in self-directed activity. Also for the group with own parents, there was better in social development compared to the other group.
5. The attendance frequency resulted in a positive relationship in the spirit of abiding the rules, the cooperative spirit and sociability. The attendance strength effected on self-directed activity positively. The participation breadth resulted in positive relationship with sociability
