자연친화적 교육활동에 대한 유치원 교사의 인식에 관한 연구 = Kindergarten Teacher's Awareness on Nature-Friendly Activity in Early Childhood Education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 자연친화적 교육활동에 관한 경상남도 공립유치원의 운영 실태와 교사의 인식도를 조사하고 그 문제점을 추출하여 개선방안을 모색하는데 목적을 두고 있으며 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다.
첫째, 자연 친화적 교육 활동의 실태와 이에 대한 유치원 교사 인식은 어떠한가?
둘째, 자연 친화적 교육 활동의 문제점과 개선방안은 무엇인가?
본 연구의 대상은 경상남도 내에 근무하고 있는 공립유치원 교사 173명이며 본 연구에서 사용된 도구는 자연친화적 교육활동에 대한 교사의 인식 정도와 개선방안을 알아보기 위한 설문지로서 문헌고찰 및 예비조사와 지도교수의 조언을 통해 총 29 문항을 작성하여 조사하였다.
수집된 자료는 SPSS 12.0k를 이용하여 분석하고 이를 표로 작성하여 결과를 해석하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 공립 유치원 교사들은 현재의 유아교육 활동이 자연친화적인 쪽이 가까웠으나 전반적으로는 유아교육이 자연친화적인 교육활동으로의 패러다임 전환이 필요하다고 보았으며 이러한 자연친화적인 교육활동의 필요성은 유아들이 자유롭게 탐구하고 생각할 수 있기 때문이며 필요성을 깨닫게 된 계기는 생태교육에 대한 연수를 통한 경우가 가장 많았다.
둘째, 공립유치원에서 많이 실시하고 있는 자연친화적인 교육활동은 산책활동과 텃밭가꾸기였는데 연수경험의 여부와 활동장소 여부에 따라서 실시 시기와 장소와 지도 방법에서 차이점을 볼 수가 있었다.
셋째, 공립 교사들은 자연친화적인 교육활동에서 기대하는 교육적 효과를 전반적으로 크게 기대하고 있었으나 자연친화적 교육활동의 현장 적용 시 문제점 또한 많았다.
끝으로, 이러한 문제점들을 개선하고 더욱 적극적으로 활용되기 위해서는 적절한 환경 조성과 좀더 다양한 연수 기회가 제공되어야 하며 학부모 교육도 함께 이루어져야 할 것으로 보았다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to investigate management reality of public kindergartens in Gyeongsangnam-do and teachers' awareness on nature-friendly activities, and it also intends to find problems in them and possible improvement plans. The following research questions are established on these purposes.
First, what was the reality of nature-friendly activities and how were teachers aware of it?
Second, what were the problems, found in the activities, and improvement plans for them?
The subjects of this study were 173 teachers working in public kindergartens in Gyeongsangnam-do, and the study method was a questionnaire with 29 items, prepared from bibliographic study, pre-investigation and advisor's suggestions, to know teachers' awareness and improvement plans
The researcher used SPSS 12.0k to analyze the collected data and made the tabulation of statistics to analyze the results.
The results of this study are as followed.
First, public kindergarten teachers thought present children's educational activities became more nature-friendly, but they insisted that general childhood education be nature-friendly. They also argued that this nature-friendly educational activities are necessary to have children explore and think freely. They mentioned that they realized the necessity of nature-friendly activity through the ecosystem workshops more than anything else.
Second, the most popular activities in the public kindergartens were strolling and gardening, and when, where and how to implement the activities were depended on teachers' workshop experience and space for the activities.
Third, teachers at public kindergartens expected the educational effects from the nature-friendly activities extensive, but there were problems found in during the activities.
Finally, right environment and more various workshop opportunities should be provided with parents' education to improve these problems and to have more aggressive pursuing of the activities.
