장 누벨 작품 공간의 맥락적 특성에 관한 연구 = (A) Study on the Contextual special quality in Jean Nouvel's projects

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 우리의 현대 건축이 극복해야할 과제인 지역적， 역사적 문제점의 해결방안으로써 맥락적 공간 표현을 하나의 가능성으로 제시하고 있다． 모더니즘 건축이 역사적， 장소적 맥락의 특수성을 거부하고 익명적인 공공성만을 지향하였다면， 이후의 포스트모던 건축， 지역주의건축 등은 다양한 역사적， 환경적 요소를 적극적으로 이용하여 단절되었던 맥락의 의미를 되살리고자 노력하였다． 그러나 이러한 시도들은 맥락을 피상적으로만 이해하여 건축의 소재로만 차용하였을 뿐， 끊임없이 변화하는 맥락을 수용해내지 못했다．
이러한 현대의 변화하는 맥락성에 대응 할 수 있는 공간 계획을 설명할 수 있는 건축가로 장 누벨을 선정하여 그의 공간 개념과 작품공간에서 맥락적 특성을 파악하고 작품을 사례로 분석하고， 이를 통해서 지역적 역사적 문제점을 극복해야할 해결방안으로써 새로운 개념의 맥락적 공간 표현특성을 도출하고 하나의 가능성으로 탐구하고 있다．
맥락이라는 것은 물리적인 것 뿐 아니라 사회， 문화적인 것까지 포함하는 것이다． 하나의 공간도 분명히 그것이 처해있는 주변의 환경적인 맥락의 일부가 된다． 많은 건축가들이 사회적이고 문화적인 영역에서 이러한 맥락을 적극 수용하여 건축에 반영하려는 시도를 하고 있으며， 맥락을 통해 사회 문화와 건축과의 관계를 설명하고 있고 근대 이후 이에 대한 다양한 논의가 이루어지고 있다．

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research proposes contextual space expression as a possibility of solution methods for local and historical issues, which are the matters our contemporary architecture has to overcome. When modernistic architecture aimed for anonymous public interests denying the characteristics in historical and spacial contexts, post modern architecture and regional architecture, etc have been striving to revive discontinued contextual meanings using various historical and environmental elements. However, such attempts only borrowed architectural materials by superficially understanding the context, but could not comprehend ceaselessly changing contexts sufficiently. Choosing Jean Nouvel as one of the architects that can explain spatial plan to properly respond to such contemporary ever changing contexts, the researcher intended to understand his line of expressional characteristics of his architectural space and analyze his works as example.
First of all, the researcher found the relationships between the characteristics of architectural contexts and Jean Nouvel's contextual spatial expression by comparing them based on the theoretical study on the contextualism, and intended to express the contextuality that Jean Nouvel tried to express through unique analysis and expression method by understanding the world surrounding himself not limiting himself simply within architecture and the space. Accordingly, this research is suggesting that the contextuality is not just something that is randomly assumed and framed up as a fixed space, but rather it is an ever changing and flexible concept that flows sustainably from the past until now, and even through the future.
