국제결혼 이주여성의 인권 실태와 개선 방안 = The Reality and Improvement of Human Rights for the Internationally Married Immigrant Women's

The primary purpose of this study is to provide countermeasures for the improvement of human rights of the drastically increasing population of international married immigrant women in Korea. In regard to the current violation of human rights context, in order for their adaptation in Korean life and community, this study will seek solutions to the corresponding issues in individual, societal and systematic realms.
The study will draw current problems of international married immigrant women's human rights with the help of the theoretical learning through existing published theses and records, and the analysis of the research materials taken from different fields of research on the issue.
The recent phenomenon manifests an increase in female immigrating population through out Asia and Korea is also experiencing the same trend. Statistics of marriage registration for 2005 indicate that 13.6% were international marriages and the increase was the most significant in rural communities with 35.7%. Such trend gives rise to many social issues of discrimination, social inadaptability, poverty, and being bound by inflexible laws. Among others, the human rights which should be enjoyed deservedly by all human beings are being violated in variety of ways. The thesis will analyze according to the areas of violation in human rights such as individual, social, and systematic level. The following questions will be asked in this thesis: On individual level, in the personal relationship of a person to another, how the violation of human rights is being carried out; on societal level, up to what extent is the violation being shown; and lastly, how the violation is manifested on systematic level which is greatly influenced by the law or policy related matter. It will also discuss how each example of violations is being dealt in other countries, as well as the efforts that are currently in progress in Korea. Moreover, social viewpoints on foreign countries' cases and their improvement plan will be pointed out.
The solution proposed in the following thesis is to serve as a tool to provoke concerns for, and to improve human rights of the international married immigrant women. Also, it is aimed to eliminate negative social standpoint towards international married immigrant women, in order to take one step closer to an integrated multi-cultural society.
