노인병원 간호사의 노인에 대한 지식과 태도 및 행동통제기술 = Knowledge, Attitude and Control maintenance techniques toward the Elderly of a Geriatric Hospital Nurses

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was performed to investigate the nurse's knowledge, attitude and control maintenance techniques by means of structured questionnaires to provide care of good quality with the 86 nurses as the subjects, in the geriatric hospitals of the Daegu and Kyongsangdo Province from March 4 to April 30, 2006.
The collected data were analyzed with SPSS/PC, which uses descritive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson coefficient correlation. The study used Fact On Aging Quiz Part Ⅰ(FAQ-1) developed by Steinmetz(1988), Sanders's Semantic Differential Scaling, and Steinmetz(1988)'s scale for control maintenance technique to measure for knowledge, attitude and control maintenance techniques.
The findings of the study were as follows:
1) The mean score of nurses knowledge toward the elderly was 12. 29. Percentages of correct answers at physical, physiolosical, psychological and social items were 66.8%, 66.8% 32.6%, and 37.4%.
2) The mean score of nurses knowledge toward the elderly was 87.17.
3) The mean score of nurses control maintenance techniques of the elderly was 5.65.
4) In the view correlation for the nurse's knowledge, attitude and control maintenance techniques toward elderly, the correlation score of knowledge and attitude was r= -.232.
As the above of the results, the nurse's knowledge toward the elderly was low, the attitude was a little negative, and control maintenance technique was low greatly. According to the correlation, the nurse's knowledge is higher and it showed positive significantly and The correlation between nurse's knowledge, attitude and control maintenance techniques was not meaning.
Considering the results of the research, our research should propose as follows.
It is necessary to educate continually for nurses in The elderly hospitals to high positively the nurse's knowledge, attitude and control maintenance techniques.
