Examining how the class utilizing the Internet media fairy tale affects the infants' ability of perspective taking to clarify the educational effect of activity of Internet media fairy tale, this research aims to provide the basic materials on the utilization method in the site of infant education.
For this objective of research, the following research issues were established.
First, what effect does the class utilizing Internet media fairy tale has on the infants' ability of perspective taking?
Second, what effect does the class utilizing Internet media fairy tale has on the infants' ability of spatial perspective taking?
Third, what effect does the class utilizing Internet media fairy tale has on the infants' ability of cognitive perspective taking?
For this research, 30 Internet media fairy tales were selected from preceding research on the ability of perspective taking from 2000 to 2003. Among 30 fairy tales recommended by Children Reading Institute(2006), awarded books of the Caldecott Medal(2006) and the awarded works of Tokyo International Animation(2003), 30 works were selected, namely, redundant fairy tales and the most preferred fairy tales and Internet media fairy tales. For the selected fairy tales, 36 questionnaires on the selection of Internet media fairy tales were distributed to teachers in the kindergarten. The 30 retrieved questionnaires were finally analyzed and utilized as treatment materials.
In this research, Internet media fairy tales were appreciated twice a week for 5 weeks from March 30 to May 10, 2006 for discussion and it was performed in the large group of subsequent activity.
To check the effect on the ability of perspective taking by selecting infants in 4~5 years old in N Kindergarten located at 0 dong Jecheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, subordinate factors were classified by affective perspective, spatial perspective and cognitive perspective for anterior and posterior test. The result was analyzed by SPSS for Windows 10.0 program. The research directly participated in the class utilizing Internet media fairy tales and observed and recorded the result. The result which was analyzed by recording and photograph is as follows.
First, significant difference was observed in the infants' ability of affective perspective taking before and after the class utilizing Internet media fairy tales. The reason for this significant difference in affective perspective taking may be as follows; through the class utilizing Internet media fairy tales, infants may experience empathy as cast in the fairy tale and the emotion, thereby improving affective perspective taking thanks to the experience in the emotion of others.
Second, significant difference was observed in the infants' ability of spatial perspective taking before and after the class utilizing Internet media fairy tales. The reason for this significant difference in affective perspective taking may be as follows; through the alteration of materials given visually in diverse angles, infants may experience positive search and explanation on their direction and position, thereby helping the formation of comprehension and concept of perception.
Third, significant difference was observed in the infants' ability of cognitive perspective taking before and after the class utilizing Internet media fairy tales. The reason for this significant difference in cognitive perspective taking may be as follows; through the class utilizing Internet media fairy tales, infants may newly infer the development, spread, climax and conclusion of accidents and thought and intention of cast from other viewpoint and experience the ability to understand and judge in the position of others.
