중학생이 지각한 부모양육태도가 인터넷 중독에 미치는 영향 = (A) study of the effect of parental attitudes perceived by middle school students on internet addiction

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중학생이 지각하는 부모양육태도가 인터넷 중독에 영향을 미치는지를 알아보고 청소년의 인터넷 중독 예방에 부모양육태도의 중요성을 밝히는 것이 목적이다.이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해서 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다.첫째, 중학생들의 인터넷 이용 실태는 어떠한가?둘째, 중학생들의 인터넷 중독 수준은 어떠한가?셋째, 중학생들의 개인배경변인(성별, 학업수준, 가정의 경제적 수준)에 따라 인터넷 중독 점수에는 차이가 있는가?넷째, 부모양육태도와 인터넷 중독수준은 상관관계가 있는가?다섯째, 개인배경변인과 부모양육태도가 중학생의 인터넷 중독 수준을 예측 할 수 있는가?연구 대상은 인천광역시 남동구에 소재하고 있는 3개 중학교 3학년 학생 543명이었고, 이들을 대상으로 학생이 지각한 부모양육태도와 인터넷 중독 검사를 실시하였다.부모양육태도 검사는 오성심과 이종승(1982)이 제작한 것으로 본 연구에서의 신뢰도는 .89였고, 인터넷 중독 검사는 김청택 등(2002)이 개발한 한국형 인터넷 중독 검사(K-척도)를 사용하였고 본 연구에서의 신뢰도는 .92였다.연구결과는 다음과 같다.첫째, 중학생들의 인터넷 사용 실태를 분석한 결과 인터넷 접속 장소는 94.0%가 집이었고, 컴퓨터 설치 장소는 학생들 자신의 방이 36.7%로 가장 많았으며, 인터넷 사용이 생활에 미치는 나쁜 영향은 수면 부족, 시력저하, 몸의 피로 등 신체적 영향과 공부 시간 부족이라고 했다. 친한 친구가 인터넷 중독에 빠졌을 때 도움 요청 대상은 부모님과 친구들이 많았고, 인터넷 사용경력은 대부분 학생들이 3년 이상이었다. 남학생들이 여학생들에 비해 인터넷에 더 많이 노출되어 있으며, 가정의 경제적 수준이 낮은 집단이 높은 집단에 비하여 인터넷 중독점수가 유의하게 높게 나타났다.둘째, 학생들이 지각한 부모의 양육태도와 인터넷 중독 수준은 통계적으로 유의미하게 부적 상관관계를 가지는 것으로 나타났다.셋째, 개인배경변인과 부모양육태도 하위요인을 예측변수로 하고 인터넷 중독 점수를 준거변수로 하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 개인배경변인을 예측변수로 한 모형의 설명력(R2)은 8.6%였으나 부모양육태도 하위요인을 추가한 모형에서는 설명력이 7.2% 증가된 15.8%였다.본 연구에서 중학생들이 지각한 부모의 양육태도와 인터넷 중독 수준은 통계적으로 유의미하게 부적 상관관계가 있으며, 중학생이 지각한 부모양육태도는 인터넷 중독 정도를 설명하는 중요한 변인임을 밝혔다. 이것은 인터넷 중독 예방에 부모역할이 중요함을 말해주는 것으로 자녀의 인터넷 사용을 통제하는 기술이나 자녀와 의사소통을 가능하게 하는 양육방법에 관한 부모 교육 프로그램 개발이 필요하다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of parental attitudes perceived by middle school students on internet addiction and to clarify the importance of the parental attitudes for the prevention of adolescents' internet addiction.For this purpose, the research topics were as follows:(1) In what ways do the middle school students use the internet?(2) What is the degree of internet addiction among middle school students'?(3) Is there any significant difference in internet addiction according to the students' sex and social economic status?(4) Is there any correlation between internet addiction and parental rearing attitudes perceived by middle school students?(5) How much will the students' sex, social economic status and parental rearing attitudes predict the level of internet addiction?The subjects of this study were 543 middle school students in 3 schools located in Namdong-gu, Incheon. To examine students' internet addiction level and parental rearing attitudes, the following measures were used: (a)parental rearing attitudes was made by Lee Jong-Seung & Oh Seong-Sim(1982) and the reliability of this study was .89. (b)internet addiction measurement was made by Kim Cheong-Taek(2002) and its reliability of this study was .92.The results of this study were as follows:First, 94% of the students used internet at their houses, and used it in their rooms. They answered that the negative aspects of internet use were lack of sleep, lower eye-sight, physical fatigue and lack of studying time. They also responded that they would ask their parents and friends for help if they were addicted to the internet. Male students were more open to the internet than female students, because they play the internet games. In addition students of low social economic status were significantly higher internet users than students of high social economic status.Second, there was a statistically significant negative correlation between parental rearing attitudes perceived by middle school students and internet addiction.Third, according to the hierarchical multiple regression the students' sex and social economic status explained 8.6% of the cause of internet addiction. When parental rearing attitudes were included, the explanation of internet addiction increased by 7.2%.From the results of this study it is evident that parental rearing attitudes play a large role in the level of internet addiction. Parental roles are important to prevent students' internet addiction, therefore a program regarding the necessary skills to control adolescent internet use and ways to communicate with children should be developed.
